  2. One of these, perhaps? http://news.bbc.co.uk/1/hi/england/london/7329892.stm
  3. Doesn't seem to be showing up properly. :/
  4. RosieH Wrote: ------------------------------------------------------- > next thing you know there'll be a moyder, and Philip Marlowe will be rocking up. Will people take to saying 'Why you doity rat' and 'Why I oughta...'? I do hope so. Trenchcoats at the ready everyone.
  5. Does grammar-nazism have its own Godwin's law? http://blogs.guardian.co.uk/books/2008/04/colonic_irritation.html
  6. Montserrat Lombard, anyone?
  7. I'd always assumed that the flashing was to make the battery last longer. *gets coat*
  8. I'll fulfil my own newsreaders prediction: Michelle Hussain. Lovely. (Or is it Hussein?)
  9. Oh lord. When I finally turn up at the CPT you'll all be so much more pissed than me!
  10. Write of, if we're being pedantic. Over, even more pedantic, 'of whom you write'. :P
  11. I don't know who any of those are. edit: a quick google image search later and my verdict is: meh. maybe bree for looks, ish - except weren't all the women on that show psychos?
  12. Wosserface from Wosserface and Thingummy's Pop Shop isn't bad. Then again I only ever see her obscenely early in the morning so my judgement may be clouded. (That's also why I can't remember their names.)
  13. How long before this descends into newsreaders? I give it five minutes...
  14. Good lord, what a job. I'll bookmark that and return to look at it any time I feel disenchanted with my work.
  15. Yeah... Betty was way hotter than Wilma.
  16. I don't understand how being true to herself here is a good thing. It's an idea that's put forward quite a lot when people get into confrontations (see any episode of Big Brother, for instance) and it seems to boil down to: "I'm being true to myself so you've just got to accept it." But isn't it better to recognise when we're wrong and to change our behaviour if necessary? Sorry, going a bit off-topic there. Shall add that I've only ever been in there twice, and both times were quite soon after the place opened. I found the service friendly if a little slow. The tea was great but the food was so-so and very expensive for what it was.
  17. And a few rats, perhaps? Scampering in from by the railway tracks?
  18. blocked by firewall at work - the title is familiar though. is it cliparty stuff with text added?
  19. I've not been in (yet) so can't comment on the quality. One thing I think is in its favour is that at least it's different. It's not just another curry house or gastropub. Must make a point of going in some time soon to try it out...

Virgle - a joint Virgin/Google project to colonize Mars. http://www.google.com/virgle/index.html
  21. 40 out of 53 for countries in Africa. Not bad.
  22. Only 20 out of 73 on the UK PMs.
  23. I only managed 30 on the periodic table. Missed some rather obvious ones. However, I only did chemistry up to GCSE - and that was a good few years ago, so not too shabby maybe.
  24. I thought his point about wearing a hard hat for a reason and not just to muck in was a good one, and I don't think she answered it particularly well.

So that's how new planes are made. Am embarrassed to admit that even at my advanced age I still believed that old story about the factory. Next you'll be telling me the cabbage patch one isn't true either.
