  1. In case you aren't aware, Athenlay FC (https://www.facebook.com/Athenlay-Football-Club-111393445595443/) runs a free exercise class for women, on Saturdays, 10.15-11am at Athenlay?s ground (Homestall Rd, SE22 0NP). This is part of the club's commitment to making it a facility for the whole community. The class is run by Amy Lamont, and is suitable for all comers. Hope to see you there
  2. I don't know about the small pool but the main pool is not warm enough for babies, I wouldn't think. The baby pool (Learner pool on here http://www5.fusion-lifestyle.com/centres/Forest_Hill_Pools/activity/Swimming) is very popular so worth a try. Also the baby pool at The Bridget Sydenham is shallow and warm, and the one at Beckenham Spa likewise.
  3. Wilkieflo - if you're not looking for a midweek girls football club I can thoroughly recommend the girls football session at Athenlay (https://www.facebook.com/Athenlay-Football-Club-111393445595443/) - 11.30-1 on Saturdays - they range from 8-15 and are very friendly. Costs ?5 per week.
  4. To conflict with Football Magic, there's also a girls football session at Athenlay (https://www.facebook.com/Athenlay-Football-Club-111393445595443/) - 11.30-1 on Saturdays - they range from 8-15 and are very friendly.
  5. Athenlay are very good - play just off Peckham Rye https://www.facebook.com/Athenlay-Football-Club-111393445595443/
  6. our daughter started there this September and I am very impressed. She's settled really well, has made new friends, is enjoying new subjects and increased independence, and has already had lots of interesting opportunities. Let me know if any specific questions.
  7. I thought the Charter was stopping automatic admission for siblings, because of people doing exactly what Tomskip says. however, don't know that for a fact....
  8. Definitely that route - we visited last year from Overhill Road, and it took us about 30 minutes - it's quite a straightforward trip
  9. Yes - Athenlay has a girls team which practices from 11.30am to 1pm at Athenlay's ground on Homestall Road. https://www.facebook.com/Athenlay-Football-Club-111393445595443/?fref=ts They're very friendly and always welcome more players. PM me if you need any more details
  10. Definitely fill all places on the form - two from daughter's class last year only put two choices down thinking this would force Southwark to give them one of those - it didn't. They both got allocated schools they didn't want which were difficult to get to... Ended up with places they preferred (though not original choices) after fall out from waiting list, but really important to fill all places.
  11. Possibly Prendergast Hilly Fields as well...
  12. Don't know if the dates/times work for you, but Heather Brannen (http://www.pilatesclub.co.uk/) is very good - have been going to her classes for nearly 10 years now and they're great.
  13. Another vote for Musico South - found us a great teacher who worked really well with our daughter...
  14. I think Scamps do - at Dulwich Prep School. http://www.avpsports.co.uk/wp/ (only main holidays though, not half terms...)
  15. It's quite often recommended to ask the nursery as one of the staff may be interested in doing this for a little extra cash... Hope you find someone
  16. Quite agree - I think they look great and really improve the feel of the cemetery as somewhere respectful, not stuck behind some tatty old wooden fence.
  17. Battersea might take them - we got our cats from there when their previous owners couldn't keep them when they moved house.
  18. I'm pretty sure you can get trains to St Pancras from Denmark Hill/Peckham Rye as well - easier to reach from Herne Hill. TFL will tell you how long they think it will take to walk from St Pancras to the zoo (www.tfl.gov.uk)
  19. Does anyone have contact details for a local gardener they've used to do this - am interested but from the costs I've seen online (approx ?60/square metre) it might be prohibitive for us...
  20. That's interesting to know - going for daughter's first appointment at DO in a couple of weeks. Will bear this in mind - thanks all...
  21. Go to computer exchange - you can get a good camera (so the actual picture are good quality) very cheaply - we got a fairly high spec Olympus digital camera with optical zoom for daughter a couple of years ago for ?25 - absolute bargain!
  22. A friend of mine had drawers put into the bit where the kickboards go, so basically shallow in height but the depth of the unit. She swears by these for tupperware, cling film, foil, etc - and I wish we'd known about them when we'd done our kitchen. Really good use of otherwise wasted space. I think hers came from Howdens...
  23. It was also a traffic nightmare - avoid if you possibly can....
  24. Musico South are very good at selecting a teacher to suit your child - http://www.musicosouth.co.uk/ - we've been with them for a couple of years and delighted at the way the teacher works with our daughter, encourages her to push herself yet chooses pieces and work that suit her.
  25. Due to open in September - it's the Harris ED primary which is currently on part of the Harris girls site.
