Hello I am pretty sure this is fairly standard but we have just settled our 22 month old into nursery. She will be going two days a week. So far she has settled in really well and seems really happy. Hardly any tears and lots of good reports. She isn't however sleeping at lunch. The rest of the toddlers in her room do still. At home we get around 90 mins most days. She takes a while to settle but we pretty much get a good sleep every day. She goes down at 1pm at home although I am bringing this earlier to fit in with the 12.30 nursery nap. I am hoping that it is just taking a while for her to get used to her new sleeping surroundings. I wouldn't mind her not sleeping but I get a couple of terrible hrs once we get home. Baby number two is also due next month so I could really do without a totally wired, overtired toddler! Hoping people can tell me that this is normal and she will nap there soon!

what was the gardens...who/what next?

Hi minder Yes I think they are relocating all their herne hill classes newwave - it's not a cr?che as such more soft play with a cafe. Seeing as it's been shut for well over a year surely any business is better than it being empty? -

Post lunchtime nap meltdowns
missyelliott replied to missyelliott's topic in The Family Room Discussion
Thanks for your replies ladies. Sounds like a common, annoying, problem. I do give her a snack as soon as she wakes but it is usually once we are downstairs. I will try greeting her with one instead and see if that works. In terms of waking her it doesn't make too much difference whether she wakes naturally or I wake her, as soon as I touch the gro bag or her that's it - cue meltdown! We are the same Anya, if Grandma or a friend is over then no problem! Maybe it's a mum thing. They call for us and when we turn up they meltdown. mmm x -
Hello Does anyone else struggle with this? My toddler is almost 22 months now and she seems to have a massive post lunch nap meltdown after she wakes. It is usually prompted by the moment I try to get her out of her sleeping bag. She goes mental! It is getting rather tideous as it can add a good 30 mins to the time it takes to get ready to go out in the afternoons. Any advice is welcome. I was hoping it was a phase but it's been going on a while now. Thanks Catherine

Hi ladies How is everyone? I know some people will still be at work but does anyone fancy trying to get together on the afternoon of Friday 13th of June? We could also try for another evening meet before we start 'popping'? If Tuesdays work for people we could try for the 17th or 24th of June? Cath x p.s if anyone wants to be added to the whats app group please do send me your numbers -

I will do a combination of toddler in the buggy and baby in a sling plus a double buggy. The sling will be a godsend but there will be times when I want to leave the baby asleep in the pram so I don't think the sling is practical all the time. I have heard mixed things about buggy boards. i.e some toddlers don't get on with them and they make the buggy really heavy to push I have brought a second hand mountain buggy duet. I really wanted a side by side one and this is the narrowest one of the market. If Flo was gonna be older maybe I could get any without a double. -

Hello, I have googled this but there is a mix of opinion. I basically want to find out if there was a buggy board that fits the iCandy Cherry as well as a Maclaren XT. Many thanks Catherine

Up for an evening too but also can't make the 8th as on holiday till the 12th. The following week is good though :)15th or 16th? Cath x -
Hello I realise that some of us are already part of the general summer babies group however I know it was getting confusing trying to organise two different meet ups. It did seem like it was harder for us to make the weekend meets. If people are keen maybe we could try and meet the 1st Friday of each month? or a mid week evening? If there are anymore summertime second time mums that fancy meeting up please join us with or without your toddlers. Or join us when you finish for mat leave. Cath x
