  1. Deliberately ambiguous I guess. They'll probably claim the coffee is Italian because the machines and style and up here in sunny Camden (it almost looks pleasant by god) the staff are Italian. Hence [italian coffee] [co], rather than [italian] [coffee co] But yes, a bit naughty
  2. I sincerely doubt our roving reporter has got out of bed yet!!
  3. As I've stated before I actually have nothing against Caffe Nero per se, at least it's british rather than another american import, but I do object to those that use a bit of financial clout to bully their way into getting their own way. From what I can tell the likes of Tescos do it to the farming industry, property developers are forever knocking down Grade 3 listed buildings and factoring in the fines as costs, and here we have a pretty big business breaking the rules on apparently at least two counts, and thinking it can get away with it, so I was enjoying the slapdown (that's a made-up technical term btw).
  4. Ooh quaywe, you lucky b*****d. I had a major crush on Saffron in the mid nineties. Well, I quite fancied her anyway, glad to see she's all grown up and wearing cool hats, and glad to see the forum is supporting a genuine local business in such numbers; 3 nights in a row we've been represented.
  5. Wow, big news! Just goes to show the dangers of trying to present a fait accompli. Go the little man!!
  6. Ha ha "Do you post?" followed by "Only to the East" I like it!!
  7. Do you have any links to what the bill actually entails. Though I'm more or less supportive of the sentiment, more intrusive (and usually ill thought out) legislation and regulation is very rarely the solution. If they've got it right I'll certainly consider lending my support. *edited after finding the link on the link provided* http://www.localworks.org/files/sustainable_communities_bill_current.pdf It's not very encouraging, it doesn't really specify anything except the provision of more interfering busybodies and writing endless plans and reports. I'm guessing the thinking behind it is to add yet more institutional inertia on top of all other obstacles that starbucks would have to hurdle in opening a new branch anywhere.
  8. CrystalClear earns a second !!
  9. Oh cool, I still need Joey Barton, Carlton Palmer and the Huddersfield Town badge!!
  10. I thought those sorts of conversations ended up with the old fella confessing all, then saying he'd have got away with it if it wasn't for us pesky kids. Clearly I've been misled by my heroes.
  11. That sounds like the first line in a joke. What's the punchline?
  12. As the number 1 hit in google is our very own (well, administrator's) fair forum best bar in east dulwich vite, then old fashioned walking there may have to be employed. Send CrystalClear he lives a matter of feet away.
  13. Naah, I just use 'if', plausible deniability. allegedly
  14. Consider it done (in the, err future perfect tense?). In all seriousness though i think the owner is probably as entitled as Kate was to defend himself, especially if one of his employees IS conducting criminal fraud on his premises, for which I imagine he could find him (or her...whatever *shakes head left and right in diva fashion*) at least partially responsible for in the eyes of the law.
  15. Ooh, I'm not sure burning is the solution!! Hold on, the pooh, the dogs or their owners?
  16. Blimey, what's Benson doing through all of this?
  17. I guess I must have just missed you sean as I arrived just after the formal bits, but everyone seems to have had a really good time (in fact most are still having one down the cherry), and all were really enthusing about the experience. Good stuff I say, and yes, great to finally meet the likes of Nero, BobbyP and Quaywe, hope to bump into you at one of the forum drinks.
  18. More clues please, I don't know if you've noticed but I'm a bit distractable today.
  19. only if the beer is on, no wine for me, wine leads to vodka, vodka leads to fear, fear leads to hate, hate leaves to errr a hangover
  20. There's absolutely no way on earth I should venture forth from shivering with the fear under a blanket on my sofa, but if you do decide to have a settler after the wine-tasting, give us a few minutes notice and i shall join you. EDT?
  21. Are my ears burning? hurrah for Dulwichmum and her unofftopicable thread!! I think we should claim offtopicate as this forum's own neologism, as long as this doesn't count as offtopication.
  22. I think I'm ok. Actually I feel terrible, but I think I'm ok for the 16th of March
  23. Swimming pools, love em or hate em they sometimes have women only nights apparently
