  1. Beautiful vintage brown green beige mottled Cornish serpentine stone lamp base by L A Richards, The Lizard, Cornwall with orange brown velvet paisley design lampshade. This is quite heavy. Just bought a new lightbulb for it. Lamp measures just over 5 inches in height and the lampshade nearly 5 inches so making the whole lamp just over 10 inches in height. £40
  2. Bought from Jane Newbury in Dulwich Village some years ago. Lamp stands approx 21 inches in height with attached lampshade. Lampshade for ceiling light stands approx 9 inches in height. Shade is a beige linen effect with green hare and the stand is a duck egg green/grey colour. New lightbulb just been inserted. £20 for both.
  3. I don’t mind being seen with my old phone and I’ve worn a watch since I was 15 and automatically look at it for the time. Saw a great article in the Daily Mail a few weeks ago about how most stolen phones end up in China.
  4. Patrick Murray of Only Fools and Horses.
  5. Oh god! Looks like you lot are in this together (sabotaging any threads that you don’t agree with) so think I will give this a miss. Hope it’s a good event.
  6. ? A pox? Well at least David Lammy has made a grovelling apology about his comments but don’t think he’ll last or will have to resign.
  7. Strong views? I thought this was The Lounge so anyone could bring something up? This is an important part of our day to day life and the Labour Party isn’t doing what they promised since their election nearly a year and a half ago.
  8. David Lammy has been our Deputy Prime Minister for a short while but his comments today after Keir Starmer’s disastrous speech at the Labour conference surely warrant his resignation? What do people think?
  9. What is this Drone Show? Drones are not allowed to fly around willy nilly are they? It’s an intrusion of privacy. I had to report one flying over my back garden and surrounding gardens a couple of years ago but the Police fobbed me off.
  10. That was my question about Ed Davey and has he lost the plot? Are you a Lib Dem supporter? What do you think about his speech?
  11. Claudia Cardinale
  12. I wasn’t asking if anyone would vote Reform? But as you’ve brought it up. It was a very theatrical speech as usual by Ed Davey. Why he mentioned Nigel Farage’s name 38 times but Keir Starmer’s name just once in his once in a while chance to push his party’s plans for the future I don’t know. There was nothing laid out by this man in the plan for the future and his general election grab for 2029?
  13. Just started a new thread but struggling to read your response Malumbu?
  14. After his disastrous speech today in Bournemouth is Ed Davey starting to lose the plot? Genuinely wondering why anyone would vote for the Lib Dem’s?

  16. Wow Sue! I was reading your post with interest as I’ve never really felt unsafe in London and I was born here. It was just your last paragraph that derailed me and totally changed the subject matter! So unnecessary.
  17. Not me!
  18. The OP might have found the ‘Creative Trump’ protests entertaining but I found them very disrespectful to our late and great Queen Elizabeth who was interred at Windsor Castle 3 years ago. They would have had more impact on projecting the images at Chequers today.
  19. Childish behaviour by the aforesaid protesters!
  20. Private schools are being lambasted by this Labour government so you might need to think about the state secondary schools in the area and there’s a good few that are on a par.
  21. He’s got to go. Especially after he was in contact with Epstein after Epstein had been found out regarding his perverted crimes. And the photo of Peter in his fluffy white dressing gown and Epstein on a patio somewhere?
  22. I would phone ahead to check whether they are accepting donations. I’ve been in the shop a couple of times over the past few years and seen people turned away with book donations. There are a few parking spaces outside the row of shops there and it’s sometimes pot luck but I’ve usually parked ok. Let us know how it goes Sue. l
  23. St Christopher’s had a new charity shop opened up a little while ago, taking over the old music shop in West Dulwich. I went up just after they opened and couldn’t believe the prices!
