  1. Private schools are being lambasted by this Labour government so you might need to think about the state secondary schools in the area and there’s a good few that are on a par.
  2. He’s got to go. Especially after he was in contact with Epstein after Epstein had been found out regarding his perverted crimes. And the photo of Peter in his fluffy white dressing gown and Epstein on a patio somewhere?
  3. I would phone ahead to check whether they are accepting donations. I’ve been in the shop a couple of times over the past few years and seen people turned away with book donations. There are a few parking spaces outside the row of shops there and it’s sometimes pot luck but I’ve usually parked ok. Let us know how it goes Sue. l
  4. St Christopher’s had a new charity shop opened up a little while ago, taking over the old music shop in West Dulwich. I went up just after they opened and couldn’t believe the prices!
  5. Angela Rayner had this country at her feet but as soon as I saw that photo of her lounging about in the kayak off her new seaside home, vaping and drinking!
  6. Unfortunately Southwark do not recognise Bank Holidays in their traffic schemes.
  7. Back to the topic of flag flying and ‘far right groups’ as you’ve said in your original post. Where are Starmer and Rayner? One is on holiday and the other is floating about in a kayak having a vape.
  8. Well I think it was very patronising Sue! Is nobody allowed to comment on something they see whilst going about their usual business? It was very upsetting to see the school boundaries being ripped apart.
  9. Turned right from Lordship Lane today onto Townley Road (before 3pm as you’re allowed to do whilst driving a car)! but was met by another set of temporary traffic lights halfway along. Thames water have finished doing a big job there but now looks like another company are on site and widening some of the pavement for some reason. Can’t see why as it’s on the side where the private coaches park up during the term time and the pavement has been fine for many years. Only thing I can think of is that the private school want another crossing?
  10. Thought the Poundland chain had been saved but this branch seems to have come a cropper just a while after it opened and is now definitely closing. A hive of activity today as I went past with everything stripped out.
  11. Went past Dog Kennel Hill school (now had a name change for this September) this morning and the hedges and bushes that were previously on the main road and all around were being totally annihilated ! 3/4 or more people with chainsaws etc. Felt so sad for the wildlife within.
  12. I was just giving advice as to what to do with a 9 year old during school holidays as per Pugwash’s original post. I like to keep it simple Sue.
  13. Well done to you for your input over the years to your family Pugwash but it does make for a very exhausting read! Maybe take a stand back and let them get on with it!?
  14. I wonder why it’s 65+ they’re advertising for? Used to be 60+ everywhere but now you have to be older to be part of the community to enjoy any benefits i.e. any free activities in your area.
  15. Just a thought but after reading through these posts it looks like the OP is trying to do too much to the detriment of their own health. I’ve been there and done it with family members and wished I’d done it differently. Maybe just take the grandkids to the local park for a picnic?
  16. Totally agree Nigello! I was driving through the backstreets of Camberwell this morning and then on to the main junction at Camberwell Green and in the space of 10 minutes witnessed at least 10 cyclists jumping lights and pedestrian lights. Winced a few times as they missed pedestrians or were very nearly hit themselves by cars/buses!
  17. Looks good! Just a heads up for a spelling mistake on the above poster.
