  1. Suppose it depends on how many Christmas cards from family and friends you’re waiting to receive. It’s been the Christmas period so surely give the post delivery service some leeway. Like Sue I’ve not posted off so many this year but some I still write letters to e.g my late mum’s cousins and other family but hey ho that’s something I do and enjoy. I used to hand deliver Christmas cards to a lot of neighbours on my street but gave up this year as realised that most of them I don’t see or speak to and can only count on a few to call a true friend or neighbour.

  6. Yes I know. Was just putting on here what I’d overheard about Calton Avenue. Denmark Hill and Ruskin Park are hotspots for phone snatching recently.
  7. Was in a shop in Herne Hill last week and overheard a woman saying she’d had her phone snatched by someone on a bike in Calton Avenue.

  9. Thanks for bringing this to people’s attention.

  11. A couple of no shows for these so they are still available and reduced to £25 for the pair.
  12. Sorry but I’m looking for the original price.
  13. Circa 1900-1910 these are in good condition for their age although have a few chips on bottom which don’t really notice and one bigger area on one vase, as in photograph. Made by Eichwald. Lovely colours for Christmas. Stand just over 8 inches in height. £30 the pair

  16. You must be a cynic as in a previous post you’ve asked someone to have a go on one of these monstrous lime bikes! Not everyone is able to walk, let alone ride a bike!
  17. Beautiful vintage brown green beige mottled Cornish serpentine stone lamp base by L A Richards, The Lizard, Cornwall with orange brown velvet paisley design lampshade. This is quite heavy. Just bought a new lightbulb for it. Lamp measures just over 5 inches in height and the lampshade nearly 5 inches so making the whole lamp just over 10 inches in height. £40
  18. Bought from Jane Newbury in Dulwich Village some years ago. Lamp stands approx 21 inches in height with attached lampshade. Lampshade for ceiling light stands approx 9 inches in height. Shade is a beige linen effect with green hare and the stand is a duck egg green/grey colour. New lightbulb just been inserted. £20 for both.

  21. I don’t mind being seen with my old phone and I’ve worn a watch since I was 15 and automatically look at it for the time. Saw a great article in the Daily Mail a few weeks ago about how most stolen phones end up in China.

  23. Oh god! Looks like you lot are in this together (sabotaging any threads that you don’t agree with) so think I will give this a miss. Hope it’s a good event.
  24. ? A pox? Well at least David Lammy has made a grovelling apology about his comments but don’t think he’ll last or will have to resign.
  25. Strong views? I thought this was The Lounge so anyone could bring something up? This is an important part of our day to day life and the Labour Party isn’t doing what they promised since their election nearly a year and a half ago.
