I'm now a fan of iPhone. Battery life can be a bit of a problem - tho' it recharges very quickly. I use m ine with my desktop Apple Mac and synchronise everything - calendars, contacts, notes via "Mobile Me" - a form of cloud computing. The quality of the screen and its size makes it great for carrying round a small portfolio of photos - used last week to show 85 year old mother photos of her grandchildren skiing and generally being active. Only note of caution - I upgraded from a very old Nokia so the leap in technology was that much more impressive. I didn't compare the iPhone with other similar products.

If budget is a concern I believe the Heart Foundation Charity on Old Kent Road (about 500 yards from Tesco) sells refurbished white goods at reasonable prices. If you get three / four years worth for ?75 you're well ahead. Many makes available.

Mic Mac - Si Mangia usually gets a good write up here as a fair, middle priced, local eaterie. A search would reveal the full range of opinion. My family and I use it regularly, not as a destination or special place but for good food, sensibly priced with friendly service. In my experience your noisy visit would be a one off.

Except Fort William has Ben Nevis on its doorstep with fantastic climbing in sumer and winter plus what used to be a brilliant chippy - staffed by a Chinese family with broad Glaswegian accents. Their Black Pudding or Haggis supper (deep fried & battered BP / Haggi + lashing of chips) were great after a day's climbing.

What a day. 100% for the first session, 70% for second and 25% for the last. At least KP was out to a half way decent ball - tho' he should still be battling if he had concentrated better. Not a bad morning session - Cook with a 50, no wickets and all Australian bowlers looking average at best. Not too many chances given by either Strauss or Cook - both seemed to remember, when tempted, that their task was: a. To get to lunch without losing their wicket b. To grind down the bowling c. To get in and stay in. Here's hoping the weather tomorrow allows a good day's play and that my wallet can stand the Lord's beer prices.

I watched this great movie again recently. I had forgotten what a powerful image of hell it could evoke in the Russian Roulette scenes. Question - is there any basis in fact behind theses scenes?
