  1. Can anyone recommend a damp and timber specialist please? I am in the process of buying a house and the survey has comeback stating there is damp. I need to get estimates and a report. I would be grateful for any recommendations. There are a few other issues as well such as bearing wall being removed and it would appear that the support maybe inadequate. Thanks in advance
  2. If Camber is too far, (top of Lordship lane near what was the Grove Tavern, then try North Dulwich club. North Dulwich Tennis club is a stones throw from JAGS. Both are very friendly and Camber does have a lot of social events though.
  3. No there was nothing extra on the computer. I have never seen that message before and tried to download the card driver but am not totally confused as i got a message asking me to create a file for the driver.
  4. Hello I am a complete technophobe and prone to getting viruses on my computer. since Mike at Peck Tech has moved away am finding it difficult to find a good replacement. Anyhoo I logged on the computer and got this message - download and install a missing driver for your memory card reader -My question is 'does anyone know what this is? should i install it or is it a virus lurking, waiting for me to download on my computer. I recently had a virus and took it to Tottenham court rd to get it fixed. The problem was fixed but I don't think everything was reinstalled. for instance he backed up all my old stuff inc emails but when i try to open the old email I can't. That was a long and rambling message and if anyone can understand what i've written and can help me I thank you
  5. Thank you guys for all your comments. my son is older & at secondary school so I don't think its PND. I have suggested relate but Husband not interested. A couple of years ago I went through a depression but I am no longer depressed. I think I have already made the decision to break up, but its how to do it. Although my husband was not interested in counselling to save the relationship he might consider using a counsellor to break up. The problem is we don't talk, we are rarely in the same room at the same time. Thanks for all the advice. I will consider using relate on how to break up.
  6. Hello I am desperately in need of advice and don't know where else to turn. My husband and I have fallen out of love with each other, I would love to move out and get on with my life but too afraid to take the step. I know my husband is unhappy but reluctant to make a decision. We have a child, who is beginning to sense there is something not quite right at home and I don't want my child raised in this atmosphere but not sure what the effect would be if we left and he no longer saw his dad everyday. Then the problem of finding somewhere affordable to live. I cannot afford move out but that can't be a reason for staying. I have no idea where to go to find help with housing, moving on but more importantly ensuring my son is fine. Its been about 4 - 5 years of feeling miserable, I suspect for my husband its been longer. I don't see my friends any more as its getting increasingly difficult to pretend. I am losing the sense of who I am and feeling so alone. If anyone can offer any words of wisdom that would be hugely appreciated.
  7. Hi All I read his thread with interest and so felt I should add my comment / observation. I actually live opppostie a gypsy site (they prefer to be called gypsies rather than travellers) and quite recently there was a 'big fat gypsy' wedding which went on for 2 and a half days. The dresses were pretty much as they are in the documentary and the bride is 16 yrs old. so far that much of the documentary seems to be true however, having lived oppostie the site for many years, i don't think the women are disrespected by the men, as portrayed in the prog. form where I sit, and i think i have a pretty good view point, from my living room window, it seems to be a matriarchal culture. The women seem to give as good as they get. As a documentary maker, I know that showing them as people who just happen to live in caravans is pretty dull, it just wouldn't make a programme. I do however think there is a socio-anthropological prog there to be made.
  8. I know Emanuel school is not in East Dulwich but wondered whether anyone knew anything about this school. Do you think its too far to away for peckham / East Dulwich. 37 bus goes there but not sure i'd feel comfortable with my sons travelling that distance. All thoughts appreciated.
