iaineasy replied to iaineasy's topic in The Family Room Discussion
okay luch time at the hearn it is! say in a fortnight on sunday?/ Gives everyone time to get a conker or two, I think a crash helmet or other safety equipment is entirely ok besides it will be a laugh to see what people come up with the more ridiculous we look whilst playing the better after all it is BONKERS CONKERS, knee pads are a good idea too in case you get a miss and follow through, those knee bumps smart man I tell you. Id have a laugh even if its just a few of us. -
bonkers conkers for dads and sons??
iaineasy replied to iaineasy's topic in The Family Room Discussion
hey thyat doesn't stop you palying conkers does it pickle?? come on man I had two cracking games today after I found them which I haven't done for years, it was such a laugh and I am now the proud owner of a five win conker!! where your can do attitude?? Conkers at dawn!!(or dusk in the watering hole of your choice if ya fancy it?? bring a string I have the conkers some of them are razor edge cheese cutters. There's fun to be had! -
bugger cant get the links to work on your website to the hear us page its says the certificate is wrong so I cant hearthe tunes keef.
-
love th flags vid wolfy but the bombs are depressing its not a good idea its just a can do attitude.perhaps i could record the end of the world, but keef i would like to come to both and listen to your sound, i could set up a couple of room mics at the hob and get a fairly good sound but it will be a bit grimy. if you want a good digital recording that you could make into a live album then the half moon it is have you got a myspace page so I can listen to your tunes?
-
Would you take outputs of the separate tracks from the desk (assuming it has appropriate inserts)? Or set up your own mics directly into your recorder? Or something else? ------------------------------------------------ depends what the set up of the band is but yes generally outputs from the main desk are best as I only have 8 inputs I usually sub mix into groups and have 4 stereo sub mixes, that gives enough scope for most bands to get a good digital recording, I used to run and engineer an open mic night in camden so would record 8/10 acts over an evening, I usually try to email the band a mix of there stuff on the night too so they can get an idea of what they sounded like it's a good way of getting people to improve their sound and build their confidence, and I have amassed a great library of unsigned music which I will eventually put onto a server so people can download there own stuff or post links to there gigs, its growing slowly but since I don't charge for it at the moment it's something I can only work on in my spare time. Since I have moved to dulwich though I would like to get back on track with it as I love being in the scene and writing recording tunes, I am sure there must be a vibrant music community here and I am very up for supporting talented people however I can. Once I have my house organised I will set up a small digital writing stu7dio here too so if people want to come and make some electronica I will be well up for it especially as once the little one arrives I will need to spend alot of time at home, and time spent tweeking knobs and faders is time well spent. There are some of my digital tunes on my myspace page if anyone is interested the link is myspace/easyukmusic I have taken all my graphics off the page at the moment so its not much to look at but feel free to have a listen and tell me what you think. Hugs

I discovered an amazing conker tree today and collected about 50 great conkers and I wondered if any dads want to get together for the first annual EDF bonkers conkers champs?? Perhaps we can have a few prizes for the kids and make it an annual get together?? I have no idea of dates etc, I am just offering it up to see if anyone is interested, and it would be a great chance for dads to socialise and have a get together, obviously mums with an eye for a champion conker are welcome too.And although I have some good nuts (arf arf) why not bring your own string. safety goggles are optional!! hugs as ever Iain

yeah thats cool keef id love to and my birthday is on the 22nd so it may be a good chance to celebrate, if we can sub mix you drum kit and take a stereo out of that mixer we can prob ably take all the other stuff from the main desk. I have 8 inputs i can use on the recorder so we can multi track most of the stuff how many instruments in your band??

30 years ago, 13 year old physically developed girls, sleeping with older men wasn't as frowned upon as it is today. Similar to parents smacking kids, no one batted an eyelid . The girl may have been called a 'slag' but the man was not called a nonce or a paedophile. The era is as relevant as much as his status. It doesn't make it right, just of its time . ------------------------------------------------------------ As far as I can tell he drugged her by spiking a drink with barbituates, that I am afraid blows the argument out of the water that it was a crime of it's time and definatley makes Polanski a peadophile because peadophilia is about control of the child and this is a predatory way of controlling a 13 year old to get what he wanted. No question about it Polanski is/was a nonce and should be punished as such.

Can you tell if someone is rude or selfish by the buggy they buy, if they use a papoose, or at what age they have children? No. -------------------------------------------------------- Unless they take out your ankles with there buggy, fart next to you in the queue at somerfield whilst looking at their papoosed baby in the time honoured fashion of an embarrassed dad and say slightly to loudly " do you need changing you little monkey?" or they club you round the head with their walking stick whilst their child steals your watch and wallet. The only one of these things that hasn't happened to me is getting hit by an old woman whilst her teenage asbo steals my watch and wallet but then I don't have either. But it's not impossible I suppose.

stair gates - how to get them to fit?
iaineasy replied to Belle's topic in The Family Room Discussion
when I was young (about 5)I got one of mums big dinner trays and slid down the stairs on that, (I had seen my older brother do it with some success) however I went so fast I couldn't stop and went through the pain of glass to the side of the front door, I suggest you don't teach your kids this technique though, it's a bit dangerous until they get to an age when they can use there feet as brakes on the skirting boardon either side of the staircase. Luckily I was un injured till mum gave me a clip round the ear for doing it, and my brother a bl**dy good wallop for showing me how.:)) funny what reading a bit of sunday morning forum can remind you of. Hugs as ever -
I have a 16 track digital multi tracker recording set up that I can use to rcord your band live at gigs etc, I am happy to do this for free. If you would like a live digital recording of your band leave me a message or pm me and I will be happy to come along a record you. There is no fee for the recording but you can buy me a pint if you like. doing it because I can hugs as ever

My misreading of your post --------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- apology accepted!! Ill have a pint with you any day matey and i will keep my cough to my self.:)-D
-
well we could use an agreement on a date if keefs brssic on the 22nd I will stand him a pint or two or we could have a whip and all stick in what we can each like a tenner or something so if anyones skint they can put in next month, I will only have a pint or two so there should be extra in the kitty for those with a little less to put in!

I'm enjoying a wells waggle dance tasty stuff!! It's supposedly a golden Ale is that considered a real ale? I have often considered brewing my own, but feel slightly worried that I would never make it out if the house if I had fifty litres of virtually free beer on tap.

Anyone believe ian on that one? Anyone at all? ------------------------------------------------- Ladymuck seems to Hey If you can afford to have the time off work Sean because your kids have got flu or a nice cold and you don't mind spending a day at home with them when they feel sh*tty and they are whining at you all day and miserable then let's go for a pint tonight, I'll even buy you one and cough in your face for free! I am genuinley sad to have missed it, but there will be other times to catch up with the reprobates of dulwich and quaff with the indomitable posters of all kinds of rubbish. I will be looking forward to it, although the idea of stepping foot into Boho next month flowery shirt or not is slightly worrying as all of my best pairs of shoes have paint/plaster on them still I guess the yuppies could do with a bit of rough amongst them to keep it real. Hugs as ever.x

As Iaineasy would say..."hugs". ---------------------------------- WOW quoted by lady muck!! I am blessed, missed it last night due to feeling a bit like a cold coming on and not in the mood for a drink or spreading germs, but hey my illegal flowery shirt will be there for the next one no doubt. hugs as ever Iain

redundancy whilst on maternity leave
iaineasy replied to little h's topic in The Family Room Discussion
Poor you, it sounds like a bit of a rouse to get you out because you've had a baby and the necessary time off work, that can't be legalin this day and age I know nothing about law but would like to wish you good luck. -
Oh god I was thinking of getting a papoose, is it an essential piece of ID for me to get into the coffee bar? Will there be a sign that says if you are lucky enough to look over 35 you will be asked for your ivf reciept? I'm having new dad angst. Perhaps this guy needs a slap from an east dulwich mum to knock the tongue out of his cheek but apart from that its a pretty harmless article.
