  1. Sorry to see that the shop's closing, I'll miss it.Though it has lacked her character for a while. What is Rose's shop in Hastings called? Will try to visit.
  2. I think if this had happened an hour later the chances are that this would have been much worse. It is incredible that the driver survived. Those bollards are ugly but essential. There was a barrier with chevrons on the corner of Ryedale at one time. All the faffing about with traffic signals at Colyton and nothing been done to deter cars coming down the hill at speed.
  3. I can't understand why there isn't a filter to turn right from East Dulwich road up Peckham Rye.What's the reason ? It is crazy how people accelerate at the change of lights to get across. Sometimes, when not in the mood, I go a different way to avoid turning there.
  4. Black dsi (with camera) with charger in the original box, plus charger so in really good condition ?100. I even have a case, spare charger and various games such as: nintendogs ,mario cart, mario & sonic olmpic games, cooking mama, how old is your brain & more training, plus high school musical 3 ALL in their original boxes for ?5 each.
  5. I am aware that the cash machine outside of the forest hill road co-op was tampered with last Christmas,my friend's card was retained and used to obtain a large amount of money at various spots around London that evening.
  6. I agree completely with dboy. The traffic has slowed greatly since the "temporary lights" were installed at Colyton Road. Cars try to speed down from the dangerous Woodvale Junction, one that I crossed daily, onfoot, to and from Fairlawn School for many years. This area at the top of Forest Hill Road really needs looking at. I think the area along by the Co op will never be tidied up until the problems with the old two trees site and the corner shop are sorted out.
  7. I remember that it was used as a general pound type store about 10 yrs ago,not for long though. Weren't the floorboards taken up last year causing a flurry of excitement, but then nothing.
  8. It just looks rather half hearted now, unfinished and a disappointment.I agree what is cleaner and greener about using aerosol paints anyway? And the bus stop building...yikes- Who chose this? I thought the seating was going to be re-instated
  9. it maybe from the tenth floor multi storey car park in peckham, sculpture show and franks bar opened this evening-
  10. It is a source of fresh food when the stock is in and well managed. But the bad weather has delayed the usual supplies. Surely, that's the point of this thread,to warn people not to venture out with false hope!
  11. This is the nearest shop to buy fresh food for many local people but this branch of the Co-op,which i frequent regularly, appears to be obsessed with selling large packs of toilet paper, christmas crackers, chocolate and drink.... .it does have its better days, the staff are generally hardworking but someone in charge of stocking what goes in there must be confused about who actually shops there and what we need everyday.
  12. Oh dear, how pathetic mine will appear as I have decided to not to send her off,but it has got worse in my area and the 363 is not running. Will have to get the crampons out.
  13. The 363 and 63 buses were all terminating at the Rye at 7(still no service),so many of us were walking up the hill tonight,it always seems puzzling that they cannot manage to provide a service, there seems such a poor communication system too.Coming back from central london,it feels so surreal as there was little snow there but good covering in the streets around here on the slopes.
  14. Yes,trident is right,363 is frequent,a walk down Rock Hill through Kingswood estate to the rear entrance of Kingsdale, perhaps 10 mins.
  15. The guy was a little stocky, hair pulled back,in a hurry and coming down Forest Hill Road with the dogs, not in a car.I have seen him on his bike before.Did not appear at all professional.
  16. Saw this man also and have seen him around locally but not with the dogs. I noticed he was walking very fast past me and the smaller black and white dog you mentioned pulling behind, caught my eye too.Makes me feel quite sad now.
  17. It took me about 20 minutes from Honor oak on the Overground, change at Canada Water to Jubilee line, which I reckon is pretty good on a Sunday.
  18. Hopefully nothing was taken and nobody was hurt. The police have been told I believe.
  19. My neighbour was visited today by two men wearing grey overalls, carrying a tool kit requesting access to check a leaking appliance, they turned on the gascooker and checked the boiler. Transco has had no reports of a leak here and it was not them.It was about 1pm and they may have had a white van with orange lettering.Just a warning to anyone else to doublecheck id.etc. perhaps as it seems a strange visit.
