Try the 'unrated version'. I'll PM you a link. Clue: it's not what he's wearing. Basically, they purposely set out to make the video as sexist as possible. They kind of succeeded.

  3. Still lost his share of the dosh, though. Anyway, here's a little taster of the court cases to have been and maybe some to come. At least in most of these I can hear the similarities (Air That I Breathe and Creep was pushing it though). http://www.theguardian.com/music/musicblog/quiz/2015/mar/11/blurred-lines-marvin-gaye-copyright-plagiarism-sounds-like-quiz
  4. Actually, all three are credited with the lyrics and, in court, Thicke testified that Pharrell pretty much wrote the whole thing by himself (though I think TI still wrote his rap piece).

Apparently that is due to some weirdness in the US legal system to do with burden of proof. It's not uncommon. It's interesting that you blame Thicke. The Guardian did this as well - reams of articles about how Thicke was responsible for this 'sexist' song, whilst (often simultaneously) producing articles praising Pharrell. Had the Daily Mail done it the other way around...

Am I missing your drift here or are you saying that's a bad thing? I'm always bewildered that films are forced to remove a scene with nudity, but are allowed to keep the dozen or so violent murders.
  7. Danger Mouse?
  8. Oh, please. It's as much about 'datey rape' as "Hit Me Baby One More Time" was about domestic violence. People wanted to be offended and, lo and behold!, they were. And if it's the same song at Gaye's then I'm going deaf.
  9. I am going to be god-daddy for a little boy sometime (very) soon. Bit stumped at a good gift for his christening. Was thinking of a good rocking horse, but the parents have said they don't have the space. (Which is fair enough - it wasn't small!) Any ideas? He's just over 12 months old and we want something that is fun/useful/long-lasting... like a rocking horse!
  10. I see Joe Pantoliano was in the Sopranos. He was a sort of go-between in Memento
  11. I think the UK entry is the most 'Eurovision' song the UK has had for ages. It could do OK.
  12. aquarius moon Wrote: ------------------------------------------------------- > A trap Otta? And you all PM each other behind our backs? It wasn't as nefarious as it may sound - I just PM'd Otta when he posted on the thread in big red letters that a certain someone was being wound up and he was just walking straight into it. All I said was that he "knew the forum too well". Can't speak for anything MM might have PM'd to Otta, though, as I wasn't party to those. > Both the guys you & Loz refer to were trying to stand up for something they believed in. The one being wound up seemed more worried about shoehorning the phrase 'pompous arse' as many times into as many posts as possible that I started to suspect he was on a bet. Anyway, all done and dusted now. I didn't even realise MM had left the forum.
  13. The thread started in July 2011, though the major bit everyone remembers was around Dec 2012. Tis here. It wasn't the OP who got wound up (the OP had decent sense of humour), but another poor bloke who practically exploded by the end.
  14. Otta Wrote: ------------------------------------------------------- > It was a memorable thread. > > Foie gras anyone? I just had look back - it was nearly four years ago!! Time flies.
  15. In that like a penicillin injection?
  16. Depends what you are cooking, MrB. Blends of ingredients is one thing, but timing and technique are all your own. For instance, getting a roast right is quite hard (though now much, much easier with core temp thermometers). And too many people are abysmal at cooking steak. It's well known that budding chefs are often tested on their ability to cook an omelette... and the recipe for that is pretty short and simple.
  17. One word: chortle. The ECB will be working hard over the next few weeks to work out how to blame Kevin Pietersen.
  18. I think that's only because I once wound you up to within an inch of your vegetarian dinner, AM. Besides, I am nice, I just have a rather mischievous side when the opportunity presents. Who on earth was my sidekick? Hugo? Sidekicks, cliques... I do lose track.
  19. Until you went and spoilt it, AM...!
  20. So Foxy-Maxxi sounds like euro porn channel Nekkid Haikus - yay!
  21. I thought it was illegal to refuse to accept legal tender for the settlement of a debt? Doesn't refusal mean that Southwark forfeits the right to be paid and cannot sue the debtor?
  22. maxxi Wrote: ------------------------------------------------------- > Why awesome DF?! > I think you mean maxxi, Loz > credit where it's due Well, he started it, however inadvertently. But happy to make you equal billing. The First EDF Foxy-Maxxi Haiku Day. Though "Foxy-Maxxi" does make it sound like an eastern European porn channel.
  23. Awesome idea, DF. We should have EDF haiku day. All messages not in the correct form are deleted. Or It is Haiku day If post format is not right Say goodbye to it.
  24. Is you post absolutely, totally and *only* relevant to East Dulwich? If not, prepare to find it in the lounge. Them's the rules.
  25. Jules - I would edit and remove your email address and PM it to James. If you leave it up on the forum you will very soon be on every Spam email list known to man.
