  1. Both sound like pretty horrid people that, thankfully, got their comeuppance. Good to see Pryce's vindictiveness blow up in her own face. But, as WoD says, at a huge cost to their family, who seemed to have been dragged through the courts with them. Now to get rid of the stupid 'marital coercion' defence. A dumb relic of the 19th century.

I think it's a small price to pay for having an extraordinarily valuable safeguard as the ECHR. Destroying that in order to deport a few immigrants is very short sighted.

Just get really pissed and wing it. What could possibly go wrong?

Fewer foreign criminals being deported which he made a pledge two years ago Careful what you wish for. To do that he will need to repeal the link with the European Court of Human Rights. And that would NOT be a good thing.

  9. Labour failing to make any ground, Tories self destructing and the LibDems holding a core vote. Personally, I think this result points to another hung parliament next election. The question will be: which out of Labour and the Tories will woo the Lib Dems. After all the whining the Labour grassroots have been making about the 'traitorous' LibDems, how quickly will they be singing a different love song when the smell of power enters their nostrils?

But not a dad. And I am never the oldest boarder on the mountain. The Snowboard Club UK recently had a thread asking about snowboarders over 40. The response was pretty impressive... http://www.snowboardclub.co.uk/index.php?name=PNphpBB2&file=viewtopic&t=53457&start=0&postdays=0&postorder=asc&highlight=
  11. Privatisation and outsourcing are a bit like government IT projects - you only hear about the ones that fail. There are lots and lots of success stories out there. There are many situations where privatisation/outsourcing works very well indeed. And there are many situations where it is not suitable, but tried anyway (and unsurprisingly fails). Intelligent use of private sector efficiencies would do the NHS a world of good and enable the money to be used more wisely. But it no universal panacea to the NHS's ills.
  12. I do both, so here's my take... 1) Skiing is better on piste, snowboarding much better/easier off-piste. 2) Skiing is easier to pick up, but harder to master. Snowboarding is difficult for the first couple of days, but you pick it up quickly from there and can pretty much go anywhere after a couple of weeks. 3) Skiing is faster. Snowboarding is cooler. 4) Both are great fun. Do whichever one appeals to you more.
  13. Oh, come on, they are are all as bad as each other. If Clegg isn't fit to be Deputy PM on the basis he covers for his colleagues and then quietly shoves them out the back door when they become aliability, then frankly none of them are. 'Cos they all do it.

No, no, Annette. It's lovely stuff. Fresh, sliced, crusty white bread, butter and Vegemite. Ooooh, makes me hungry just thinking about it They sell it at Sainburys, too.

  21. No. It might actually encourage them. And you get to avoid the worst display of Dad Dancing since David Brent.
  22. Cheapest solution? Buy a network drive, plug it into your home network, open port-forwarding on your router and *Bob*'s your uncle. The downside is that you use the upload speed of your broadband link, so unless you are on Virgin cable, it might be a bit slow.
  23. I've used http://www.post-a-rose.com/ many times. Lovely flowers.

Anyone who points out the deficiencies in Feminism is a wild-eyed MRA. Isn't that the same line of thinking of the old 'must be a lesbian' canard? C'mon Rosie - you're normally a better debater than that.
