Lee plays completely to the left wing audience, saying political things that they want to hear in a satirical/humorous way. He knows just what to say to wind up his targets and the more offence caused in delivering this message, the better. His detractors think his is crude, insensitive and politically naive and his general approach far to the wrong side of 'smug'. But the Guardian readership laps up his every word and wish he was leading the country. For the computer spoddies: s/left/right/g s/Lee/Clarkson/g s/Guardian/Times/g

I don't find Stewart Lee funny in the slightest, just a bit worthy angry young (well, not now) manish. At least Mark Thomas made me laugh. In fact, Stewart Lee is really just a left wing Jeremy Clarkson. Minus the humour.
  3. You're new around here, aren't you...? That rumour, plus the M&S Food one, has been doing the rounds for years.
  4. I thought it might be a new type of clothing material. FM - no static at all.

Love him. He knows just what to say in order to wind up exactly those he wants to get into a flap. They know he is winding them up, but they still bite, every time. It's a commendable ability. My favourite is his complaint about the M4 bus lane... "why do poor people need to get somewhere quicker than I do?". I think the editor of the Guardian must have immediately passed out in apoplexy.

  7. Blimey, the St Francis park isn't that bad. If you really want some excitement, a quick jog around Burgess Park in Camberwell should be experienced. If you make it.

(Wireless Setting at the top of the left hand menu).
  11. I do like the music they play, though... :))
  12. There's loads of foxes in there as well, so I expect nature is keeping things in check.

  17. As usual, Google and Wikipedia are your friends.
  18. It's true for florescent lights if they are not on for a long time. Which is why installing 'energy saver' lights in short use areas like bathrooms is a false economy.
  19. Most routers pull very little electricity. They are not very complex and no moving parts. You could consider it a security issues, though. Router security is not impossible to break and if your router is using older encryption then it is really quite trivial. And if you are with Sky, change your admin password if you haven't ever done it. The default you are given is not secure. Having said all that, I leave my router on 24/7. But then I work from home.

    "You're Dumped"

Stop making excuses Rosie - you were quite happy with all that until he rearranged your flowers. (That *must* be a euphemism for something...)

Just as well you didn't try to rearrange her flowers as well, Hono, else Rosie may have just gone ballistic...
  22. Why on earth do you need a pink cycle super highway? I always thought they rode the other bus.
  23. There used to be a shop on Oxford St that sold a t-shirt with "Nobody knows I'm a lesbian" on it in big letters. I really wanted, but never had the guts, to buy it. I thought a bloke wearing it would be fabulous irony. But I also thought I might get beaten up by a passing group of ladies in comfortable shoes.
  24. Can we have a knees-up?

    "You're Dumped"

Empowering? Really?? I always came away feeling like I was a complete bastard, even though I was generally doing the right thing and calling a halt to something that was absolutely doomed anyway.
