  1. Duck and waffle is amazing! Didn't take the kids myself, but saw a table with kids and they had a highchair. Also, not as fancy but the food is really good and there is space for the kids to entertain themselves outside is Lantana in Shoreditch. Enjoy!
  2. There is a table sale at the Abbotshall Road Healthy Lifestyle Centre on Saturday the 21st of November at 10am. ?1 adult entrance, children go free. There is a caf? on site as well for coffee, cakes and refreshments. Lots of toys, clothes, jewellery, small household items etc on sale. SE6 1SQ
  3. I rarely post in discussions on this forum, but... What an irrelevant post! Please stop judging other people for their choices in life and let them be! We will be starting a similar project in the new year and I have found many of the suggestions on this thread helpful. Going back to the original topic: Can anyone tell me how easy it was to have a temporary sink plumbed in in their front room to use during the building works? grabot Wrote: ------------------------------------------------------- > I agree with Gill and Joe. 4. LCN in Blackheath is quite good for modern dance/performance.
  5. Haven't had experience of the paediatric day surgery, but have had experience of A&E, children's A&E and other day surgery and have been very happy with the care there.
  6. Also tarts are great, as well as baked aubergines in tomato sauce, pasta and pizza (I personally think that both pasta and pizza are better as veggie options!), roasted vegetable salad with warm goats cheese, Greek spinach pie or cheese pie, as well as Greek spinach and rice (google spanakorizo). :)
  7. Permitted development is completely separate to the planning application process. If you are planning to do a planning application, then providing you are not in a conservation area and that the design is reasonable, I do not see why it should be an issue that the loft will be larger than allowed within permitted development. You can also contact Lewisham for pre-application advice at a fee - a few hundred pounds but can't remember how much - in order to get an understanding of whether you should go under permitted development or a full planning application. I hope this helps!
  8. Ours bought a 'bestest sister' T-shirt, which the eldest still tries to squeeze into a year later!
  9. It is an extremely sad read. I had a very negative experience during my second pregnancy myself and still feel angry about it... I hope this website can make a change!
  10. Hi, I'm afraid we can't make it either. Hope it goes well.
  11. Thanks for organising! We can probably do the 29th depending on location. We are based in catford so anything beyond ED or peckham might be too far. X
  12. I am planning a house extension and I am looking for recommendations for builders with experience in building with timber frame. Thank you
  13. Watching this thread with interest as I am in the same situation. Youngest will be one on Christmas day, but we already have so many toys from her older sister...
  14. Love sing and sign - it helped my eldest understand the importance of communication, though I miss Trish's class! We have now moved so I'm doing the classes with my younger one in lewisham and they are not as good as Trish's. :(
  15. For families who have moved or are planning to move to Catford/ hither green : please sign this petition to make brownfield road (south circular) safer. https://you.38degrees.org.uk/petitions/safer-brownhill-road-for-everyone Thanks
  16. Melanie at Brockwell Park Massage is fantastic and comes to your home! http://www.brockwellparkmassage.co.uk/treatments.html
  17. I was hoping that some of the family roomers with recent extensions could point me to the right direction...
  18. We are finally thinking of getting our extension done (Hurrah!). Does anyone have any recommendations for a surveyor/architect who can come and measure out the existing house and produce accurate drawings? I plan to design the extension myself, but need to work off accurate drawings in order to avoid any problems during construction! I have had a quote from an architect but it seems rather steep to me ( more than 1k). Am I being unrealistic? Thank you!
  19. Yes, I do bring her in bed after a while. I also did it with my older daughter too (and still do if she is I'll or something). I love the extra snuggles, but it doesn't always guarantee that she will sleep - she didn't this morning. Last night was pretty good, though. She didn't need me till 5.30!
  20. Thank you all for the advice. Her sleep patterns seem to be different every night. I have started feeding in the night for the last 2 nights now and have also decided to just go with it - she will grow out of it. It's probably so many different things that they are hard to deal with all! Teething, separation anxiety, growth spurt and development leaps.... She may even be a little cold - what do you put your baby to sleep in and what temp is their room. I have her in a baby grow and a grow bag. Monday night was pretty good, last night was awful. I just hope it gets better soon , as I go back to work in a month!
  21. This has now evolved to waking constantly from 11pm onwards. We have brought her in with us to get some sleep, though she still cries. Is there an 8 month growth spurt? I haven't tried feeding recently. Maybe I should... I am tired!
  22. Since my second daughter 8 months ago I am still losing a significant amount of hair! Every time I brush or wash I feel I loose a whole wigs-worth! I have been pretty bad with taking my post natal vitamins though. I feel for you - I 'll keep an eye on this thread for any solutions. X
  23. I m having trouble with my almost 8 month old daughter sleep. Since May she is waking in the night at least once, normally between 4am and 5 am crying. I don't know what to do. I don't think its teething - not every night for 3 months anyway! She now goes to sleep for naps and at bed time awake and I shush to sleep or just leave her to it and she goes off on her own. So she doesn't get cuddled or fed to sleep. The thing I don't understand is that she wakes crying every time. Even from naps. That suggests to me that she is still tired but I don't know how to get her to go back to sleep on her own once she has woken up. I am exhausted and she sometime s wakes her older sister too, as they share rooms.... Help! Edited to add that she is not hungry - I have fed her in the past and she still didn't get back to sleep easily. I normally feed her between 6.30 and 7.00am.
  24. My husband and I are going away for 2 nights this weekend and leaving our 2 girls at home (excited and petrified!). My youngest is 7 months and still breastfed. I have left enough milk for her at home, but want to keep supply so will need to express while away. Trouble is that I will be flying/at a wedding etc for many of her normal feeding times. Does it matter when I express in the day as long as I express 5 times? How do you know how much to express? Thanks!
