I'd second Kiehl's range, V good for dry skin, keeps skin moisturised for longer periods.(tu)

Negative, negative! I "enjoy" my job very much and socialising plays a heavy part. It's very rewarding on many levels regardless of the crazy deadlines. I wouldn't think of a career change at any age till retirement.:)

Growing Pains - Billy Myers - Kiss the Rain has to be one of her all time bests! Portishead - Dummy - Glory Box (LOVE IT) Thanks for posting this thread keef, you've just reminded me of some my favourite albums, must dig them out! And no I'm not ashamed to admit that I love bit of Morrisett's Ironic. Killers - dito. Sorry to digress from topic but I personally think it's good that music produced by some of the most exceptional indie bands aren't channelled through mainstream commercial radio.

'Wildlife experts' and the fox story

Oh, that's not fair - Silverfox is a rare breed unlike the ordinary ones. Count me in as far as this a day time activity. I don't like to wake up to the sound of gun shots in the middle of the night! -

http://www.eastlondonadvertiser.co.uk/content/towerhamlets/advertiser/news/story.aspx?brand=ELAOnline&category=news&tBrand=northlondon24&tCategory=newsela&itemid=WeED09%20Jun%202010%2012%3A21%3A52%3A430 Looks like Boris is concentrating his efforts to keep the urban foxes at bay so you're right Silvefox, there's a loophole - watch out! Only if he could take similar approaches to other "menaces" that threaten our society like the kind Brendan's talking about...! -
That wasn't quite what I implied by that line Rogue Apostrophe, he wasn't the type anyone would want to approach!! We did but for a second we both froze seeing what was happening in front of us!

My heart goes out to this family. I hope the babies would make a speedy recovery. As a parent there's nothing worse than having to encounter an attack on your hapless little baby who obviously doesn't have a defense mechanism. Are they reinstating fox hunting as a hobby now? -
That's one of my favourites too, Keef! Giggirl, maybe the heat was getting to him.. :))

Lucky you giggirl!3 days of partying must have paid of when these guys turned up!!:)

Sorry to hear of your trouble Sushi but I wonder if it was a similar device to the one that was used in an attempt to open doors to our car. The incident however took place right in front of us a few weeks back. We were walking back to our car which was parked on Forest Hill Road. A particular youth overtook us on the pavement only to approach our car (in the distance) and enjoy a very close inspection of it. He then repeatedly flicked a "black market key" at our car in an attempt to open the doors but having failed at that was trying to desperately open them manually before finally running away. People passing by did notice but none accosted him. We too felt totally powerless and baffled as all we did was loiter around hoping he wouldn't escape with it. To make things worse we had our little daughter with us so it was just too much of a risk trying to approach a youth of this nature. We were quite shaken up but what can you do..? I didn't fancy a run down of his hidden antics! I do wonder though how he was planning to get away in broad day light - it has an alarm & an immobolizer but then again there's an art to any craft!

What's it really like to live in Dulwich?
jalapeno replied to jsmith's topic in The Family Room Discussion
Yes I guess we're lucky because of Aisha at WW who opened up new pastures to us when we were on the verge of putting an offer on a property in ED and while I'm not going to share how much we saved by moving to FH, our wise decision at the time made us a good return in the long run so I guess like that couple on LLL we used our heads over heart.. -

Agree with you Molly. There are other equally desirable leafy, child friendly areas in south east London which are also perfect for bringing up a family other than East Dulwich. Having lived in the area for 7 years the closest to ED we'll be moving to, to raise our brood is Wood Vale because we still like being close to Forest Hill. On another note, what an anti climax the couple on LLL loved ED SO MUCH but made an offer on a property in Forest Hill! -
Oh I love Razorlight, How I wish my little daughter was born to that! A bit of Salt N Peppa's Push it can't do any harm to get you in the frame of things when you're in that delivery room?:))

Jsmith, Have you considered Forest Hill, SE23? Very green and leafy with popular children attractions like the Horniman & sandpit at your doorstep. The East London Line is here so trendy places like Hoxton and Shoreditch are a tube journey away if you ever need a distraction from ED. Certainly more space for your money, propertywise. There's a huge boom in the area with lots of new establishments starting to open. The best part is you're never too far away from ED as it's only 5 mins up the road! -
I appreciate I had a chance to explain what happened in my case and am glad you raised this issue Saila. Thanks all for your concerns, my daughter is fine now. As a parent I don't induce fear in her when we're around dogs but will continue to be cautious and keep a watchful eye on her as any parent would with their young baby.

I come from a pet loving family and despite being bitten by dogs in the past hasn't put me off loving them. We were casually relaxing on the grass and before I knew this little dog was over my three week old baby and I'm sorry if my post comes across as scaremongering. I just wanted to share the experience as I never have been shocked by dogs to that extent till it happened to me and wanted to assure the originator of this thread and others who've had similar experiences they're not alone in feeling slightly apprehensive when around dogs - is this wrong? I was very late in springing to my feet(post birth), had my mum not been there I still wonder what might have happened. I posted the link as I thought it was appropriate seeing we're talking about dogs attacking children - babies/ toddlers disregarding where they may take place. I can see why this thread would offend certain dog owners but had there been a fatality it would be a different story.
