Indeed it is, but apparently that's the case, and the lack of the ferry is causing massive inconvenience to many people :( Plus presumably the ferry people have no work :(

Callows are brilliant and really helpful. Thanks for the warning. How annoying for them.

  6. Probably true.

Citrus is in those plastic net bags. Why can't they use cotton net bags? And I bought some apricots in there yesterday which had three separate bits of packaging. I will write to them about it when I get a moment. It really annoys me, GRRRR :(
  8. Hardly any traffic on Lordship Lane whenever I've been down there lately. Many parking spaces in my road. No lights on in the houses at the back of mine. No noise in the street.

  12. East Dulwich seems to have become a ghost town! I am enjoying the peace and quiet though! :)

  14. I'm with iD, I've never had any problems with a signal anywhere. They use the 3 network. I only pay a fiver a month for more calls, texts and data than I ever use, it's a rolling sim only monthly contract so easy to get out of should you want to, and any unused data rolls over to the following month. Oh please don't start all this again. Or if you must a) Do it on another thread (preferably on another forum) and b) Provide evidence for your statements. Thanks.

My parents lived through the war and certainly had a freezer in the seventies.
  18. Dulwich Fox, I have used plastic takeaway containers to freeze things for years. They go through the dishwasher after use. I don't freeze things in carrier bags :))

This is probably too late, but the ferry between Studland and Poole is closed. It needs a spare part which will take 23 weeks to arrive, according to Swanage information centre. Oh, and the best fish and chips are at the appallingly named The Fish Plaice, almost opposite the Ship Inn. Enormous pieces of delicious fish, crispy chips, friendly service, and they tell you the name of the boat it was caught in :)
