  2. The Ivy House (community pub in Nunhead) has gluten-free pasta on its new Spring/Summer menu. http://www.ivyhousenunhead.com/docs/menu.pdf The spicy chorizo pasta is delicious :) ETA: It doesn't any more (30 May) :(
  3. Many moons ago I had to dig up all the (small) shrubs I had in my front garden and resort to having plants in pots because my insurance company claimed that the shrubs had contributed to differential movement of the bay/rest of the house, so be careful if you are planting anything in the ground near to the house :(

My car is in dire need of a wash - I'm not that fussy, but it hasn't been washed since the Dust Incident :))
  5. Very very sorry to hear this. Sadly, if you are able to replace it, you may need to consider chaining the pot down in some way, or otherwise find a way of making it very hard to steal. Some time back there was a spate of window box theft in ED. The police said that the thieves had gone round the neighbourhood with a van. It was just before Mother's Day. My three were taken in broad daylight :( It's hard to believe that people would stoop so low as to take somebody's plants.

  8. I cannot believe this thread is hidden away in the family section - where I have never previously visited as my daughter is grown up!! I am on the verge of getting a new kitchen and this is very helpful. At least I didn't find it AFTER I'd finished the kitchen!
  9. I'm in Ulverscroft Road too. As soon as I saw the badge saying ADT I told them I wasn't interested. The guy said "Not interested in what?" I said "ADT". He didn't try to keep me talking, he just walked off.
  10. There's a tiny narrow little house in Herne Hill, isn't there, on the opposite side of the road from the Half Moon? Or is that just a shop? Or have I imagined it altogether?!

I thought Ulverscroft Road had already been earmarked for a cycle hangar. I have reserved a space via cyclehoop. I just wondered when it was going to be installed. Presumably Southwark Council already recognise the need, as I thought they had approved it for this road?
  12. StraferJack Wrote: ------------------------------------------------------- > When they posted about the sushi I recall plenty > of scepticism - looks like that scepticism was > well founded xxxxxxx I vaguely recall having some kind of cheese roll or something in there. Must have been the evening Dan Maitland was singing soon after they opened, I think. The food wasn't exactly memorable, anyway - certainly sushi wasn't available!
  13. Why is this thread not in the lounge? Most of it has nothing to do with the defaced poster.
  14. StraferJack Wrote: ------------------------------------------------------- > even Boho was intriguing once.. > > http://www.eastdulwichforum.co.uk/forum/read.php?5 > ,289897,page=1 xxxxxxx I don't remember Boho serving sushi, is that correct?
  15. We were very happy with Tokiko who did ours, but we don't sell things through it. http://www.thegooseisout.com

    Who's voting?

I always vote. Though often these days it seems to be just voting for the ones you dislike least ......
  17. khedley Wrote: ------------------------------------------------------- > It's completely bonkers but I believe it's been > converted (to a reasonably high standard) into a 4 > bed - still wouldn't pay that money & I live on > the same street!?! xxxxxxx I live on the same street as well :) A house a few doors down from that one - converted around December/January from two flats - has also recently been sold. It was on the market for a similar price ie over ?800k, but I don't know how much it went for. It has been "done up", but only has three beds. It seems to have taken some time to sell it, but I guess the market has now caught up with what seemed very overpriced in January. It was originally owned by a housing association, so I hope they got a decent price for it before the developer got his/her mitts on it ......
  18. Thanks Socks! ETA: But presumably they may be plastered with Halifax advertising??? ETA: I see they are a "proud partner of the Big Lunch" :)
  19. Sounds scary, hope nobody was hurt or major damage done?
  20. Passed by yesterday and it now says bar/cafe or words to that effect on the window, so - guess it's deffo going to be that, then :))
  21. Any news on when the Ulverscroft Road one will be installed?
  22. Jeremy Wrote: ------------------------------------------------------- > There's a basement too though, innit. xxxxxxx Yeh but that's quite small too, n'est ce pas? Perhaps it'll just be a shop for their "other objets", as described on the website Vik gave the link to. Nitpick: Shouldn't it be "other objects" or "autre objets"?? Though not sure the "autre" is correct as is remembered from my French O level in, oh, 1965 :)) :)) :))
  23. It's a very small space to be selling furniture in, isn't it?
