Don't know anything about servers but I guess traffic volume could be the cause if it's generally increased lately and is particularly high at certain times. I don't have the problem all the time, but when I do it's extremely bad - loading a page is like watching paint dry :-S ETA: I shall always imagine you like that now, Sean :))

At the moment, it's - Oh, I thought I had a rather nice and rather expensive vase on that table. Oh, duh, I have a vague memory of it getting broken sometime around Christmas. Can I remember how, when and where it might have got broken? No. Can I remember dreams I had when I was about four years old? Yes. AAARRRGGGHHHH :))

Was it good? I love Dulwich Tandoori! :)-D -
Dulwich Library is great and I feel bad I only use it to go and collect (lots of) garden recycling bags. Memo to self: Start using Dulwich Library for books instead of the Mind Shop at Goose Green, and use their CD section more because it's very eclectic :)

Yeh I'm still having problems but in view of Sean's post have felt unable to speak up about them :))

Northcross Market to open on Sundays?
Sue replied to James Barber's topic in General ED Issues / Gossip
Why is the market making a deficit? Not enough stalls? Too low a stall rental? Surely those issues should be addressed before trying to expand into Sunday, when surely the same issues would arise. -
Blimey, I've morphed into KalamityKel :)) I should lay off the Stella :))

I posted a link on another thread a while ago for the Royal Mail online complaints form. I'm not sure how to track it down, and I've just tried to find it on their website (which I think is rubbish) and can't, but there deffo is one. They've always replied to my complaints, but I've actually had more problems with other couriers leaving items in ridiculous places like my wheelie bin, or out in the rain. There is a difference between requesting compensation for missing items (in which case maybe gift cards don't count because how could they know you were telling the truth about the value?) and just letting them know of missing items so that they can trace any apparent patterns. Royal Mail certainly used to have a dedicated Investigation Department, and I'd be very surprised if they didn't any more.

Lordship Lane street party for Royal Wedding?
Sue replied to silverfox's topic in General ED Issues / Gossip
About as much chance of that happening as any of the people on this thread actually organising a street party, I'd say :)) I stand to be proved wrong, but whatever happens I deffo won't be going to it if it's got any connection whatsoever to this ******* wedding :)) -
Northcross Market to open on Sundays?

Keef Wrote: ------------------------------------------------------- > But not Felbrigg and not Ulverscroft. Lordship Lane street party for Royal Wedding?
Sue replied to silverfox's topic in General ED Issues / Gossip
So let me ask again, all you enthusiastic people - which of you is going to organise it? Cos it surely aint going to happen by itself :)) And "a time of national celebration"? It's clear just from this thread that a lot of people won't be celebrating, including me. If only I could afford to, I'd be out of the country :)) Two people getting married. Hooray for them. So what? -

civilservant Wrote: ------------------------------------------------------- > Not one of these people, pro or anti, knew about > the Council meetings, James Barber. It does look > like Southwark's set on pushing this through on > the QT. xxxxxxx That's what it looks like to me as well. A minute's walk from the market, living in one of the roads affected, and I'd never have known a thing if I hadn't read the posts on this thread. -
Waitrose or M&S TYPE supermarket - do we want one on LL?
Sue replied to James Barber's topic in General ED Issues / Gossip
I get notification of new posts to this thread sent to me by email, so even if I look only every five or six new posts that's still a considerable number of views just for me. -
trizza Wrote: ------------------------------------------------------- > done sooner rather than later but the more I think > about it, it may be a better idea getting the > whole lot done before we sell when we are ready to > leave. > xxxxxx Just a thought - someone might prefer to buy the house as it is and get the work done to their own taste, so unless you'd actually make money on making the changes yourself, or unless an estate agent recommends otherwise, why bother having all that upheaval?

I don't have time to do more than that, I'm afraid. -
Northcross Market to open on Sundays?
Sue replied to James Barber's topic in General ED Issues / Gossip
It is the road closure aspect in particular that I am concerned about. What is being done to consult residents in roads which run off North Cross Road eg Fellbrigg, Lacon and Ulverscroft Roads? -
Lordship Lane street party for Royal Wedding?
Sue replied to silverfox's topic in General ED Issues / Gossip
And I ask again - all you people who so want this street party, are you going to organise it? Including liaising with the council re road closure, doing risk assessments, arranging first aid provision, publicising it, providing entertainment and everything else that would be involved? Because if not, how do you think it is going to happen? -

If there was a "Not the Royal Wedding" party I might go to it, but otherwise no way. Which is why I suggested above, if people want a street party, why not have one with the rest of the country on the day of the Big Lunch. The weather is likely to be better, as well (was a lovely sunny day last year).
