The immediate responsibility would seem to lie with the US soldier who threw the grenade which killed her (if that's true). If you're going to go beyond that, it's a bit like identifying what is the "ultimate cause" - how far back do you go?

Tarot Wrote: ------------------------------------------------------- > chastised by > the self appointed P.C. squad. xxxxxxx Speaking for myself, I just don't like to hear people being described in derogatory stereotypical terms. If that makes me part of the "PC Squad" then yes, I'm proud to be part of it and I'll stand up and be counted. Make me "self appointed", Tarot. ETA: Don't expect you got off your arse and went to Barking to take action against the BNP, did you? No, thought not.

There was a television programme on earlier in the year about gypsies, and they made it quite clear that they found being called "pikey" extremely offensive.

In this case, skin colour was an important part of the description - as would be gender, hair colour, height, age, clothing etc.. And "pikey" is a derogatory term in this country.

Sorry about your loss, Pellmel.

I'd also like to buy you a drink Georgia, I had stopped coming to the forum drinks but would come once more for old time's sake :) and I did really appreciate the effort you put into organising them. Provided it doesn't clash with a Goose gig, which are also on Fridays. ETA: Though I realise that probably won't be the top priority of whoever organises this last forum drinks!

Just found this by Googling - I didn't even know you could get red pyrancantha berries! 3. WILDLIFE LOVE IT Birds especially appreciate Pyracantha shrubs. To them, the red berries are a delicacy, especially in winter, when the ground is frozen, and other food is hard to come by. Note, however, that gourmet birds are picky and have their favourites. Most prefer red pyracantha berries. They'll eat the orange ones next, and the yellow ones only when they're really hungry. You may want to consider this when choosing your firethorn variety.

But maybe that's why ducks have (usually) relatively big broods - to ensure a couple still left to grow up :-S

Just wondered if some varieties are more attractive to birds than others. Re the ducklings at Peckham Rye, there was no sign of them on Sunday afternoon - are they still there? We seemed to visit at the heron's Activity Hour - he was stuffing his beak like there was no tomorrow, what with I don't know - little fishes? Very entertaining and made a change from his usual musical statues pose. Hopefully he hasn't stuffed his beak with the ducklings :-S

I'd recommend it for peace of mind.
