Whole thing seems crap to me. You should register with the Dulwich Medical Practice (I think?) in Crystal Palace Road - I've always seen a woman doctor there whenever I've asked for one. The reason for a woman being in with a male doctor is as a chaperone - not the same thing at all as being examined by a woman and/or not wanting to be examined by a man.

I love The Apprentice. It's about the only thing I ever watch :-$ Even once having to co-run workshops with Jo Cameron didn't put me off it :))

I think red squirrels actually have quite distinct tufts on their ears, but I'm not an expert .... but would be very surprised (and delighted!) if it was a proppa red squirrel.

What was the book? All seems a bit strange to me, why would you go door to door collecting money for a book which "has yet to be published"? Why not wait for the book to be actually published before trying to sell it? And surely door to door isn't the most effective way of selling a book, anyway?

People won't make the effort to go that far imo, unless they happen to live nearby. Dan Maitland ran great nights there in the old Page 2 days, but attendance dwindled, including mine. A trek across the Rye (and then back) on a dark wet cold night is just not appealing in the same way as a shortish walk within ED. Shame, because that space out the back used to be great. Don't know what they've done to it now though, lost track of all the changes to that pub.
