  1. I'm missing this because I'm *working* Did someone say 'free chocolate'.....?
  2. Sue - thank you so very much. Won't say anything about there being a lot of them in ED at the moment :))
  3. I love hearing the Spring birdsong too although I do agree they can be very noisy and they have woken me up a lot lately (but I really don't mind being woken by this). I am rubbish at identifying bird types. What is the one that makes the "teacher, teacher" or "rusty bike" sound? If anyone knows the answer that would be great as I think I can hear that one a lot. Thanks.
  4. Its becoming clear that some forum members are sticklers for tradition when it comes to original formulas: - Midget Gems (hard) - Pears Soap (non-chemical, non-itching) - Marmite (glass jar) Er.....I'll stop there. For now.
  5. And yes you can get pumice from Boots ;) As well as 'dead sea' salt.... And probably some 'healing' amethyst... And.....
  6. Otto - this is great. I know someone who specialises in volcanoes too, she is currently in Iceland to collect more samples..... Was it light/dark? Did it appear to have 'bubbles' on the surface? Yes please do post a pic of it, thanks.

  9. SteveT Wrote: ------------------------------------------------------- > One of the staff told me it was the autumn when it > opens. ...and I was told by someone in reception last week that the pool would open sometime in July (this year). Doesn't seem like anyone there really knows for sure.
  10. Hmmm....now I understand why the service appears to be quicker....no-one is shopping there anymore. Personally, I have always found the staff to be helpful and polite in there. Maybe things will improve if those dissatisfied customers let the management know? Its early days...and I hope it gets better for everyone.
  11. legalbeagle Wrote: ------------------------------------------------------- > And mine leads me to > scream "LOON!" when I read things like that. Yeah Loon is absolutely what I thought too! I went to a great lecture at the Royal Society on Science and Islam (ages ago). It was thought-provoking to hear about their valuable contributions towards the progression of science in their early civilisations and then the (perceived) decline in today's era. The cause of earthquakes is well understood now but whether this is taught in a lot of societies.....? > Sex = Earthquake? Well maybe, if > you're lucky, but not in the way he thinks. :))
  12. ha ha ha you're SO right HAL9000, well spotted. In my defence, your honour, it was a LONG time ago....anyone could get the lion mixed up with the tin man (or scarecrow*), couldn't they......? So........it was a medal they gave the lion for his courage. Thats what I meant, medals, hearts, curry....easy mistake, yeah? :)) *etc *also collapses with laughter*
  13. Don't go in there that much but have noticed : Quicker service - check. Marmite rice cakes - check. So (tu) from me, so far anyway.
  14. Interesting read but IMO I thought some of the headings were a little 'sensationalist'. I would thoroughly support the compulsory teaching of geology in schools. Fab that they do this in Iceland.
  15. Not so much a moment of madness but a few years of confusion reigned when I was much younger..... I used to wonder why the cowardly Lion (in the Wizard of Oz) was given a heart when he eventually got to the Emerald city. In my mind he had clearly asked for curry? My rotten brother laughed so much ....
  16. Oh, this was definitely madness on my part......I screamed the house down whilst having a shower due to a scary 'bug' appearing by my feet through the soapy bubbles, following me every time I tried to get away!!! Worried other half sprinted up the stairs to find out what carnage was happening in the bathroom (as you do) ....... he was not impressed to find I had been frightened by nothing more than my own toenails (which for some unknown reason, I had painted in a really dark reddish/black colour) Needless to say he was less eager to 'rescue' me from any subsequent bug attacks/moments of panic :-$
  17. Course I didn't think it was really YOU Mick Mac. But do let us know if you go it alone and set up a rival one. Like I said before, if they haven't changed the top secret formula for flying saucers or sherbet lemons...I will *likely* manage to sleep tonight. (Oh, is that the time??) ;-)
  18. Er...good luck with it :)) ED is right behind you - well, maybe they are a bit sloooow to join up but its early days yeah?
  19. Well, Mick Mac, I'm thinking of withholding my custom until your original supplier is reinstated. This is outrageous. Whatever next...? ;-)
  20. OMG - what's their policy on flying saucers and sherbet lemons?
  21. I know people with mortgages/rent/utilities/council tax who are skint.....some of them are even known to be eco-conscious too.
  22. So goose green squatters - please could you tell me why you choose to squat though? Thats what I find interesting. I personally knew someone who became a squatter - he was from a mega-privileged background (yes, I DO know not all are!) and he seemed to enjoy being a 'rebel' and anti-establishment - IMHO probably due to the fact the hardest decision he'd ever made in his 25 years was which cigar cutter to buy for daddy's birthday pressie. You say you're good at DIY? Any good with fence panels? :)
  23. ------------------------------------------------------- > Sweetcorn = Chinese crabmeat or shredded chicken > and creamed-corn egg-drop soup = tres gross. > Aubergine = Greek mousaka = usually ugh, no-one cooks aubergine properly. > Cucumber = English cucumber and sardine sandwiches > = delicious on its own, absolutely no sardine allowed. delicately slice into little triangles, serve with proper tea, preferably in a beautiful english garden. > Tofu = yum
  24. I am happy to confirm I have re-read it and now understand that the fence meist.. lovely complete gent, won't be sending the money ;-) I hope that the fences are repaired soon, that the criminal is caught and that we collectively vote for a government that lets vital public services, like the police, function without so much red tape...happily ever after.
  25. (tu) me too
