Ooops :-$
  4. Namaste I wish I could have made it to this one (tried and liked Jaflong). Hope it was a good eve. Keeping a look out for the next date for sure.
  5. ......have we all been there? Boss - Lets see what you have written? Me - Here you go. Boss - ABC? Me - Yes. Boss - I think BCA is better. Me - Really? It's no different is it? Boss - Take a closer look. Me - I have. Its exactly the same words except you have just changed the order. Boss - Exactly, you have. Except I have the same words. Its just changed the order. Me - *sighs* Edited due to :-$

Ha ha, so true ...That must mean 'bcc' is the opposite? :)) Another one...people who can barely look up from their blackberry throughout the duration of a large meeting, where they have been specifically invited to contribute. Self-important ****s And they still don't look up when someone asks them a question - yet give their answer while staring purposefully at their *important* emails. Yeah right.
  7. Great - large percentage of Whitehall to relocate outside of central London over the next ten years.

I sympathise with this one. Its bad enough being an adult when someone does that, yet the baby had no choice. Sometimes we see things we cannot ignore and other times we wish we'd spoken up when we kept quiet. Difficult.
  9. What did you have for lunch today woof? Spam? Cheese? Or both?

Forget pies - take shoes! PS. Fivers??!! They seem quite rare these days so.....no, shoes it is. Or handbags. Oh, and pies then.

B) hi mazza7103 - I have been toying with the idea of seeking interest for a scavenger hunt around ED to raise money for a (local) charity so maybe you could do this for yours? It would simply involve signing up some interested local businesses to participate for the 'clues' that are set and obviously drum up enough support from local people to participate in teams (with the entry fee going to the charity). Could be a nice, fun thing to do when the weather is warmer... Is this the kind of thing you are thinking of?

  14. Looks more like spam/cheese and vegetables in there. How very misleading....I mean vegetables are supposed to be 'healthy' aren't they? Lets see the discussion take shape... PS. I truly have no idea why I am 'discussing' this woof! :)
  15. ...sitting alone in the back of an auto (rickshaw) whilst the driver has got a *bit* lost .....and not having a care in the world. The look on his face when I can direct him to the right road in a (smattering) of the local language or severely poor hindi. ...travelling through the villages in India. Truly wonderful.
  16. CC - this is a great theme. Now....where do I start? ...walking on a remote beach in the Scottish Highlands hearing nothing else but the sound of the waves against the shore, the crunch of pebbles underfoot and the noise of an oystercatcher looking for food. Oh...and the odd seal popping up to say hello. ...walking through a remote pine forest after its been raining.

In my opinion, the shadow chancellor (particularly) reminds me of a small schoolboy, vainly trying to get in with the 'big boys'. Although, cynical as I am....I doubt that this happy news for the Cameron family was timed to coincide with the election.
  18. Moving with the times and all that....why not The Forum (are English pubs named after popular local things that reflect the history/community?) :)-D Or ...as others said, name it after the fabulous Wodehouse? Or ...the Blyton (as long as its child-friendly and serves lashings of ginger ale)... Very best of luck, whatever it turns out to be. Its nearby so I am sure I will pop along to try it out.

Okay....before I moved to ED, I lived in a lovely little 'market' town where the only supermarket was a Co-op. I truly hate to say this (as I believe in their values and ethics) but..... that particular branch was awful in terms of variety, quality and freshness. We only shopped there as a last resort for the occasional thing despite its handy location. Then....the Co-op let the space out to M&S and it went from one extreme to the other. The M&S was really pricey and they always ran out of 'basics'. However, it was always busy (unlike when it was a Co-Op) and whatever they did to the interior/layout, it became a much nicer place to shop. Despite this, I hope that the Co-op here is an improvement on Somerfeild and so NickT, I am hoping its a good thing. Lets see.
  20. The Uplands? Just a guess....

  22. ..the shipping forecast. *Don't ask* *sighs* Viking, rain at times, moderately poor, increasing 5 or 6. Forties, Cromarty, Forth, Tyne. Rain later. Moderate or good. Occasionally poor. *Gute Nacht*
