  1. Another recommendation for Roberts & Dennys. Used them 3 times over 12 years, always great service and well priced.
  2. Not 'alf. bore off Huguenot. I've never known any different from the current situation, vis a vis the lights, and they seem fine to me & my children as we use them daily. So probably in favour of maintaining them. I think.
  3. i think the lights should stay. which i'm sure they will.
  4. these are brilliant: http://www.lakeland.co.uk/poach-pods/F/keyword/egg+poacher/product/12116
  5. does anyone live on or near colyton road....any opinions as to what its like as a place to live? thanks!
  6. if you really want soul try clinton mackenzies boxercise gym above the half moon pub in herne hill.
  7. pleased to see arsenal won this evening but rather concerned for gael clichy, judging by this excerpt from the bbc website...sounds nasty: "Clichy was taken to hospital for a scan on his left shit, but it revealed only bruising."
  8. franklins fourthed, (and chez bruce IS in SW17 not 18 although i'm sure no one cares by now, if they ever did)
  9. i can think of the small one by sainsbury's, one in the the field opposite the horniman and another at the top of goose green.
  10. The actress that plays Stacey (in Gavin & Stacey) lives in E Dulwich. A bit of quality! Its getting to be like steller street round here.
  11. sorry about the 'little' tag. i meant in attitude rather than actual size of course! i know "everyone does it", fair enough but i still say sad t*****s! .... simon m, you're possibly right about the asking price, and when, in a few months or so, you check nethouseprices.co.uk, as i bet you will, you'll probably be proved right!
  12. jesus there are some sad people on this forum, they can't help but pass judgement on things they really know nothing about. the guy who said the house on underhill road "really wasn't that spacious " must live in a palace as its actually one of the largest houses in SE22 on the market right now. and it wasn't "beenied" either. it was and is as far as i know under offer and proceeding. and no, its not my house but i happen to know the people who own it and its shoddy behavior, in my opinion to start pin pointing particular people (or their houses in this case) for your particular brand of what sounds like jealousy. just think, if you knew the people you gossip about perhaps you wouldn't do it? edited out of courtesy
  13. just one last thing to add, as far as goodrich at least is concerned, getting a place for your child at their nursery does in no way guarantee or prejudice the chance of getting into the school itself.
  14. have you tried mother goose nursery in greendale - they take babies from around 7/8 months.
  15. i've got a saab 900...they're brilliant. we also have a scenic which is very good at its job of being a family holdall but feels a bit cheap compared to saab and i'm sure won't last as long. vauxhalls are just totally uncool. sorry but its true.
  16. i got one a year ago while my scooter was on the pavement outside my house. i took a photo to show it was not blocking access etc and sent this in with my challenge. the ticket was successfully overturned.
  17. its going to be a deli. joint venture between one of the owners @ franklins and his business partner.
  18. sorry, to clarify, the endless parade of different staff began once we got to hospital! during the attempted homebirth we had regular attendance from the same widwife, no problem there (except the baby didn't want to come out!) good luck.
  19. my wife tried to have our first child at home, it didn't go to plan and we ended up in kings where our daughter was finally born by emergency c-section, lots of different midwives in & out , no continuity, not a great experience but a very happy ending. 2nd time around we opted immediately for kings and had a lovely experience with fantastic midwife who stayed with us throughout. excellent.
  20. my children go to their local state primary school (and as discussed on this forum many many times, all the local primary's are good). My question is, what to do when they reach secondary school age - are there in fact, any good state secondaries in this area and if so where? I have searched these archives with no success, does it come down to either paying for private or moving? Surely not. Various anecdotal answers range from "we're moving to the country" to " lets keep our fingers crossed they might build a new school soon" Perhaps parent power will do for a secondary what it did for certain local primary's and turn themselves around in just a couple of years . Although this is all a few years off yet I'd welcome any info/experiences. cheers.
  21. an elderly man was burgled at 3am , he tackled and successfully saw off the burglar, but there was a bit of a fight and he was hospitalised but luckily not more than cuts and bruises.
