  1. albescent ordure - poetic enough DM? - ah that takes me back ...
  2. I've had hearty peasant food of the coq au vin type (albeit at not peasant prices) at the french gaffe in Lordship Lane - can't remember what it's called but looks like an old butcher's shop.
  3. Until forced to run to the wee loo
  4. I pick up after my dog's poo! What I object to is americanisms. Last time I looked there were pavements in East Dulwich.
  5. Sean Straight up. Genuine recommendation - he is very, very good. I have been known to punch a dentist from the prone position such is my fear (at a posh practice in Clapham) - wouldn't dream of touching Keillan.
  6. Sean I can recommend Keillan at the dentist surgery in Station Approach by Peckham Rye Station. I am a complete coward and he is fab - lovely, gentle Irish chappie who accepts my quaking quirks. Only down side is the premises are grotty, but that doesn't detract from the treatment.
  7. I can provide tasteful curtains and hops from my back garden. What about a site visit to Cumbria?
  8. Probably result of taking some pot
  9. Exits balconey and throws hands up in horror. M. Keef seems to be about to shoot Sir Harry Llewellyn's faithful steed ...
  10. There are two: one on Costa St which is the one being done up, and one on Queen's Road
  11. so sorry for blip - I should have refreshed screen!
  12. Should I favour Si Mangia?
  13. Fear not, DM, I have a phial of Sal Volatile in my carpet bag ....
  14. Surely DM, you should have called on your helpful firemen who could then turn the hose on the ungallant M. Keef ....
  15. Couldn't help but watch. Scarey Mic. Anyone else think he's strangely jaundiced? Or has he been dog training in Faro?
  16. Wakes up from week-long Laphraoig-induced dream; approves DM's garb and swiftly dons ElizabethBennettype[nodstoNapoleon] frock snatched from capacious carpetbag and compares decolletages. Satisfactory, so offers DM a turn around the room...
  17. Dear Fatfirghters forever I am slightly intimidated by you if you like Bridge. My extremely intelligent father plays it and card counts to boot. I've never quite got it. However, if anyone would like to join in a snap school, I'm up for it. DM - would you deign to bring your harpsichord?
  18. May I just say thank you to Cllr Richard Thomas for coming online as himself and trying to help, even though this is not his patch. [This from a rabid Tory]
  19. How pretentious is stem ginger cake? Bread & dripping never did me any harm for my tea.
  20. Sorry - final post ... Realised URL magically made itself on previous post. Also I have to confess I shamelessly plagiarised crochet site from the marvellous "West Dulwich Life" blog (hilarious read).
  21. Sorry - that last post was way too serious. To lighten the thread, perhaps Mic could branch out into dog fashions - will do loads for his image: http://whatnottocrochet.wordpress.com/ (see 21 July entry) [sorry am Luddite who knows not how to post url]
  22. Do you think the lovely Mic could teach my dog to read the "No dogs" signs on Goose Green? I'm looking after a Doberman (surely right up his street) and the last three times I've walked him on the Green, the gate to the dog-free section has been left open and he's nipped straight in there. While getting him out toot sweet (sic) surely it is incumbent on the users to close the gate after themselves?
  23. I went with a dog whom I am looking after for the holidays. Since he won fourth place in 'handsomest dog' category I think the day was brilliant and the judges sublime. Seriously: it was well organised, reasonable selection of stalls and it was a fun afternoon, especially in the people-watching stakes - dog-owners are a strange breed.
  24. Doubledeckers Follyfoot The Cricket on BEEB Top of the Pops (I know those last two are cheats but I like 'em)
