  1. Bigwade has only made 3 posts on the EDF - all on this subject, today. A disgruntled ex-member of staff, methinks. Watch this thread disappear.
  2. Our son had a 2-wheeler with stabilisers, but he insisted the stabilisers come off about a week after his 3rd birthday and that was it. If your son is confident with his scooter, etc, he may be the same.
  3. We are looking for a sensible, reliable, friendly 16+ to do occasional "sits" (can't call them "babysits" any more!) for our 11 and nearly 13 year olds as our current sitters are off to university, etc. There must be lots of suitable candidates - where are you?!{Preferably Goose Green end of ED) PM me if you/your teen is interested!
  4. I saw the episode last week about Deptford High Street - it was really interesting, but so sad that all those Victorian houses and the close knit community was bulldozed to make way for the concrete monstrosities. Looking forward to Camberwell Grove.
  5. Yes, there is a great Beaver Colony at Rye Hill Tennants Association Hall on a Monday. It's 5 - 6.15, I think!
  6. Is he in Y6? My son plays for Tulse Hill and trains in Dulwich Park on Saturdays 10 - 12, league matches most Sundays. The coach and the boys are very friendly - PM me if you want details!
  7. Putting a school with a high number of applications first on your list does NOT affect your chances of being offered any other school. The "computer" at PAN London applications submits your name to all schools you applied to without telling the school which number you placed it at. The school then decides whether to offer you a place according to their criteria - distance/lottery, etc. All/some of the schools may offer you a place. The computer only tells you about the highest ranked school in your order of preferences. Hence you must put them in the true order of your preference in order to stand a chance of getting the school you want most.
  8. Try Burgess Park GoKart Track - much cheaper!
  9. Gumboots usually do a holiday playscheme - they run in Goodrich and East Dulwich Community Centre on Darrell Road.
  10. We have had 2 parties at the go-kart track there - really good and it's definitely suitable for 14year olds. I think alice is talking about the bike track next to it as I think they have to be 10? to do the go-karts. I know they run lots of sessions, and they are really friendly.
  11. Yes, there is one up the hill - Battersea Rise, on the edge of the common with lots of stuff for toddlers!
  12. > Yes, did anyone else see the Head of DHJS on breakfast TV?
  13. Fractionater, my daughter and I saw some boys throw a stone which smashed a car window on our road on Friday night. They did look quite shocked, and then, as if by magic, two community wardens appeared! I dunno what happened after that, but one of the boys involved lives on the road....!
