Just before Easter I called DMC for an appointment for my 7 month old. I did not manage to get on queue first enough and missed all appointments, they told me to go to lister which I did, it took more than an hour to be seen and my child was screaming by the time we got to see the doctor, screaming child and completely stressed mum, turned out we both had an infection. Thursday before good friday child sick again, go through the motions of calling DMC and get through, get an appointment. Mid afternoon DMC call me to cancel the appointment as the Doc has called in sick and offer me an appointment for Tuesday, I point out that my child is only 7 months and she says yes that is why they are offering me a Tuesday appointment. This I must say was a surprise as before they have been really good regarding children under 4, i always got a same day appointment when it was the kids, i however would wait ages for an appointment. When I needed an appointment in March i was told there are no more appointments and they have not opened their April appointment book.

Got 4th Choice, gutted. Never been to the school so have to visit soon. But just in case what is the next step, how do i find out why I did not get 1st or even 2nd choice.

8 Month Old never sleeps through and 4yr old has also started waking up. You basically get used to it and value the precious moments you actually get to sleep. I am absolutely anal about the time I go to sleep.

If you are going for the private onces do ot buy anything yet as they insist on you buying swimming nappies from them. They also have a waiting list so its good to start early. Dulwich leisure centre and peckham pulse have adult and child lessons but they insist that the child must have had their jabs. Basically leisure centre classes are cheaper about 6 per lesson about 60 per term while private lessons ate 12 to 16 per lesson thats 120-160 per term. Honestly I think they are all the same and it all depends on which instrucor you get, children can't swim properly until they are about 4yrs so its just about building their water confidence.

Why does Fusion insist on the 1:1. Its definately annoying. What facts/evidence do they use to back this up. We should do something. I have 2 children and I cannot take them swimming alone dispite the fact that one of them is prety confident in water. I don't want to go hunting around pools I want to use my local pool!!!!!

Yep ?7 per child for the first 10 and 4.00per child after that max 25.

I think for parties at the soft play its about ?7 per child which includes the hire of the hallway/room for food. Went for a party there as well and it was great. Unless I dreamt that up.

The Mag has a room. Not sure how you go about hiring it though, but have been there for a party before

Kings is in Lambeth (if you give birth in Kings then you register in Lambeth) but Southwark is its commissioning PCT, if you are treated in Kings and you are a no-fixed-aboard then southwark fits the bill. Although as I said all this is irrelevant as they operate as an alliance now.

This is wromg the hospitals are not within the same PCT. Lewisham is within Lewisham PCT, Tommies is Lambeth and Kings is Southwark. Having said that the three PCT have an alliance and tend to act as a group.

No Baby No is lovely found it at the library.

Carry some food, was done at 3am and there was nowhere to get food. Lovely midwife had to look around and could only find toast and yoghurt.

My 4 year old daughter would love this. She does have a sibling who is too young to play or do pottery. Have been to All fired up and she loved it, although nearly gave me a heart attack by running around too close to the pottery display. If this is still on would love to come.

Surprised that they did not check the tongue tie, when I initially had problems with BF despite a good latch the first thing my midwife checked was if the baby was tongue tied, which he was not. It just happened that since he was a big baby I needed to position him differently. Good luck and glad you got it sorted.

Lynda is great. Don't have her number but she runs a BF cafe at Cherry Tree Children's Centre on Tuesdays from 1 to 3pm. She will also come to you if you call her and she is free. The BF cafe is also very good and sociable although very popular and therefore can be very busy. Sorry just finished reading your post and you asked for private, anyway she can help too.

I have been asked to taste the milk,if on a long haul flight you could request them to prepare water for you and you can take powder instead of liquid. (That's if you can trust their water is sufficiently boiled and all).

Why should she shop online? The parents and child parking are for Parents WITH child(ren), and the spaces are few as it is without some TENT taking up some space. And why does it put the riots in perspective? Does it mean life stops and people cannot discuss anything else.

When I had a CM about 2 years or so ago I never paid for her holidays but I did pay when we went on holiday. Strange that this has changed.

My daughter goes to Nursery f/t 5 days a week. I pay for it. Because of various reason maternity and stuff I cannot change the hours she goes until after my maternity leave, but like you I am now keen for her to go 3 times a week so as to bond with a new sibling and since I will be home I would like her home with me. I have enrolled her in swimming lessons on one day and explained to the nursery that although its a place that another child could take, that is what I want. SO stick to your guns. Nursery is not compulsory and it is your child so keep her home, ask them what happens if she gets absence maybe nothing. Also ask for a timetable so that you know what activities they do on what dates and pick days when they do ot do much, or when they do things that you can do with her at home.

I do not leave my child unattended, if i have to pay for petrol then i take her with me into the store. The only time I can say I leave her unattended is in the house if I am in another room but even so she has to be doing something and I will keep checking on her, but outside, in the car, she must be within eye sight.

Hubby was on his usual jog/run, which goes through nunhead cemetry, he came across a child in a pram crying left unattended, he stopped and stood there for a while, wondering what to do,then someone came out of the bushes to attend to the child, and he continued with his run. I personally think that was very unsafe, what if hubby had bad intentions?

Used Nectar points to get into Lego land last easter weekend. My 3.75yr old daughter absolutely loved it. Made it worth all those shopping trips to sainburys, although spent about 11,000 points which equates to about ?6,000 worth of shopping over the last year.

Fuschia - Pass for how many? And if kids go free,that makes it about ?34 for the adult if ticket is bought online, surely cheaper than ?425 in tesco.

I was a SAHM for 2 years after my first and had no cleaner, never even thought about it and the house work was mainly managable. I then went back to work full time and it was a nightmare not having a cleaner but Mr. R pitched in with the housework and we managed. Then I got pregnant with no.2 and things went downhill house was constantly messy and then a month ago we moved houses, and it was a nightmare having to unpack and get things together at over 20 wks pregnant. Now at 32 weeks I cannot do it so this weekend we got ourselves a cleaner, and personally i think its the best decision we ever made had several hours saturday morning with nothing to do no bathroom to scrub, floors to polish and it felt perfect. We decided to have one until i have the baby and then a month after that, so we will see how it goes.

I think have a cleaner if you want one and can afford one, nothing to feel guilty about, its all boils down to personal preferences.

Great to be back after so long. Finally finished with the moving and packing and did not have internet for almost a month. Did come for the Peckham Rye meet but slightly late and guessed all must have gone to the pub as I was with my daughter, thought it would be cruel to take her away from the Park and was not sure if the pub has outside space. I was hoping to come out tonight but had a muscle pull in one leg earlier today and I can still feel it. Have a lovely time all. And hope to see you all soon.
