  1. Hello I know not East Dulwich (sorry!), but have a pregnant friend in stockwell and she was wondering if any similar midwives to lanes, oakwood etc over that way...just asking on off chance someone might know? There is a tommies caseloading team but doesn't seem to cover sw9. Thanks Widdy
  2. We had something similar with our first at about 6 months and lasted for a couple of weeks. We think probably teething related - could it be that? Have you tried nurofen and/or calpol). We thought the lying down may make it more painful. ..but may have been something else entirely. We were on holiday and used to put him to sleep in buggy and then carry him to bed when fast asleep. Not ideal...but doing that meant we could at least eat dinner and the phase didn't last long.
  3. I was with dmc chadwick rd and self referred to oakwood when I was very early pregnant- they were amazing! They do get pretty booked up, but worth a go!
  4. Hello Does anyone know if there is anywhere locally where you can get wheels replaced on a maclaren buggy? Thanks Widdy
  5. Hello What about a woman's refuge? I recently met a lady on a train who had to leave her hometown in dorset with her young baby and had to go to a woman's refuge in London because her partner was very violent. She didnt have anything. When i'm done with my pram and other baby paraphernalia (sp?) etc i was thinking of looking around for a woman's refuge type place. Or i think kids company also welcome donations. Widdy
  6. It will be interesting to see if you still feel the same after youve lived there for a year...
  7. Hello I'm looking for a childminder from mid-Feb next year for my son who will be almost 1 for 3-4 days a week (subject to discussions with work!!). Any recommendations for any located ideally around Bellenden Road and surrounding streets area, or Peckham Rye, Denmark Hill or East Dulwich stations please pm me. Many thanks Widdy
  8. I also emailed Liz before I went last time and didn't hear back, so I ended up phoning and speaking to her and I then later got an email from her! I can't go this Monday, but basically if you turn up they meet outside the cafe (it's pretty obvious as its the group in sporty gear with prams!) and Liz is the one without a pram. It's ?6.50 and just turn up 5mins before if it's your first time as you need to fill out a quick form. I'd also take a mat/rug to lie on when doing lying down exercises, I didn't cos I did t know, but someone kindly let me share theirs. Have fun! Catherine x
  9. Yeah I enjoyed it and found it quite a good workout and friendly. I ache today, but that is the first proper exercise I've done for about a year and I walked the running bit. You can just pay per session so can give it a go without committing. I can't go next week, but im definately going to try and go to the Peckham one every week.
  10. Don't think I can make Thursday, but for those interested in power pramming, i went to the Peckham rye one on Monday and the lady who runs it, Liz I think, said there was no Dulwich one on thurs as she has a school assembly. Might be worth emailing her to check (comes up if you google it) though in case I'm wrong. It's ?6.50 a session or I think you can pay ?50 for 10 sessions. Catherine x
  11. I'll be at the gardens tomorrow too. I'm not around for next few weekends, but would be up for a weekend meet (and allow sone father/son bonding), either vino or a nostalgic franklins breakfast? Catherine
  12. Hello I haven't been to any meet ups for ages, but am deffo going to try and make it tomorrow. C x x
  13. Hello Congratulations to all new babies and mums! I haven't managed to make it to the gardens yet, but Williams got his jabs tomorrow at 10 so depending how he (and me) are will hopefully make it. Would be great to catch up! Catherine
