  1. Just a vote of support for Simon's work. His therapies/strategies are amazing and really do work. I overcame ME after a 3 day course with Simon and he also helped me overcome claustrophobia at the same time. I just wish I'd done it earlier as it changed my life.
  2. Looking for someone to render our garden planters (currently just breeze blocks). Need it completed next week. 07832358126 Simon
  3. Used Terry to replace a couple bathroom taps. Nice guy and has done great job. Can definitely recommend.
  4. Hi there I'm selling some cloth nappies. My son is super skinny and the world's worst fidget so we only used them for a couple of months. Please get in touch if you are interested. Best wishes Kimberley
  5. We're looking for a new player to join our team which plays in a league on Monday nights up at JAGS. We're all in our late 20's/early 30's and fairly fit. We like to have a good laugh but at the same time play at a descent level and win as many games as possible. Send me a message if you're interested. Cheers
  6. Hi all Glad everyone is doing so well and sorry I missed the last get-together too. Evenings and weekends are trickier for me but I'm very keen for the day-time park action later this month. Count me in. I may even bring my dog to join in the proceedings (outside the cafe of course!). Sarah, Ruth etc, I feel your pain. I also have PGP and the physio at King's basically just gave me crutches (but am also being stubborn) and a belt and told me there is nothing more she can do. I have just over 7 weeks to go so I'm just going to have to suck it up and get on with it, I think. Taking regular paracetamol now, which I wanted to avoid, but its not for long I guess. Anyway, looking forward to seeing some of you in the park. Kimberley x
  7. Does anyone want tomato plants in exchange for something flowering/pretty (e.g. bedding plants - petunias, impatiens etc)? I also have brussel sprout plants ready for planting.
  8. Apparently the going rate for childminding around here is ?50-60 per day inclusive of food, nappies etc. But if there are any mums out there who know any different, please correct me!
  9. This will exist soon! I am planning on setting up such a business is 6-9 months' time (not much use to those of you who need it now, I appreciate). Just keeping it really small scale, in my own home. I am retraining as a childminder (expecting my own baby in July) and am going to hopefully take on 2-3 children on a permanent part-time basis and the rest of the time I will offer ad hoc care for freelancers' children. Any suggestions for how to make this a success welcome!
  10. I'll be there on the 8th and can't wait! My man might come along for a wee while, eat some cake and then b*gger off to find someone to play football with, knowing him. Not sure he'll know where to look with all those preggy bellies! Wish we could all bring wine. Is anyone else missing it dreadfully? I seem to want it more now I'm pregnant than I ever did! Likewise with gooey cheese, prawns, pints of lager, raw fish - basically anything I'm not allowed, I WANT! Don't understand all those people who say they've gone off these things as their body's way of protecting itself during pregnancy... Peggy - best of luck to you over the coming weeks. Can't believe you're nearly there! So exciting. You will let us know when Mini-Peggy arrives, won't you? Kimberley (aka Billy - long story, don't ask!)
  11. Hi everyone - I'm new to this thread and due on 25th July. I'm gutted I missed the 2nd April meet-up and actually am not around on the 7th May but could do the 8th if the date were to change. Just keep us posted on this thread as to which one you decide on. Peckham Rye park is my favourite. I have a dog and walk there daily (although back ache seems to be cutting my walks shorter and shorter these days). Speaking of back ache, I'd LOVE to get involved with a pilates group, in someone's house or in a park. I've been doing some lessons in the Peckham Pulse on a wednesday and they are really good but I keep missing them because of other plans. I was also told the other day that my baby is big (but from 'feel' not from scan). Oh well, let's hope he/she comes a bit early then! Does anyone else feel like thier baby is 'knocking' from the inside of the tummy at this stage? Apparently its lying width-ways, which is very uncomfortable at times but guess it must be comfy for bubs! Congratulations everyone and I hope we all get to meet some day. Kimberley xx
  12. I know a lovely female German A-level student who is desperate to come to England for a few weeks this summer to improve her english before her exams next year. She would ideally like to find an exchange partner who is also interested in learning German but would also fit in perfectly well with a host family with non-German-speaking teenagers who would like to make a new friend / broaden their horizens. I aupaired for her cousins 10 years ago and have remained firm friends with the whole family. They are lovely people and come from a beautiful part of Germany, in the Southern countryside. Her family would love to welcome your teenager into their family just as they did me 10 years ago. She is 17 years old but would be happy to partner up with a GCSE student who might be interested in taking German A-level next year or indeed any 16/17/18 year old who would be willing to introduce her to a bit of english culture. Please PM me if you are interested and I will put you in touch. Many thanks.
  13. Hi everyone I'm joining in with my July 25th due date. Congratulations to you all. This is my first baby and, like others, I'm only really just starting to enjoy it now that the first scary three months have passed. On the contrary to some of you, I am now obsessed with watching every little detail on One Born Every Minute and making my poor husband watch it with me too! My latest fun baby things to do have been: 1. Apply for the RNfL free ?40 cloth nappy voucher. 2. Shopping around for cute fluffy cloth nappies. 3. Trying to work out what furniture we need in Baby's room. 4. Researching (without much luck) pushchairs. Even though its my first baby, I seem to look really pregnant already. In fact, someone asked me if I was 20 weeks the other day and I was only 14! I'm swimming at Dulwich Leisure Centre and am about to embark on my first aqua aerobics class this week! I haven't got around to sorting out yoga or pilates yet though.... does anyone know the cheapest option? Oh, and in case anyone's interested, I'm opting for an epidural. I KNOW I won't handle the pain so there's no point trying to prove anything! Nice to get to know you all - maybe we'll meet up for real one day? K
  14. I can't believe one has been pinched already. So sad.
  15. I love the new addition. Shame there isn't a plaque to tell us all who put them there. They should be proud.
  16. Yes please Renata. Could you also mention Ulverscroft Road as the same kind of small speed bumps are doing nothing to slow the cars down. Children are always playing on the street/pavement and one of these drivers is going to cause a serious accident. Thanks
  17. Hi there I was just wondering whether anyone else finds the Garden Centre's razor wire a little bit intimidating when you get off the train at ED? I know you probably don't have much say over what they choose to protect their property with, but could it perhaps be covered up on the station side so that you don't immediately think ED is a scum hole when you step off the train?! Thanks K
  18. My Vespa has the lights constantly on. I thought most did, but clearly not. I agree - the lights make us more noticible, as do high viz jackets in winter. Doesn't stop vans reversing into you, though...
  19. Thanks everyone for the tips. I have tried all of the above routes so far and my favoured route is through Peckham, Camberwell Green, Elephant and Castle. Let's hope its not too bad when the schools go back next week! PS. "Shiny side up" - love it!
  20. Hi there I am new to ED and have been trying various routes from ED to the City (Liverpool Street). Does anyone do a similar route? If so, which route do you find least dangerous / congested?... Thanks K
  21. Hi everyone. I'm new to the area and the CPT is my local (geographically, at least). I have heard that it has recently been sold to the owners of the Bishop on Lordship Lane and the Florence (Herne Hill) and is due to re-open in May..... is this true?
