  1. Tried to get my son an appointment first thing this morning. Experienced the usual issues in even getting into the telephone queuing system. When our call was finally answered, we were told that there were no physical appointments or even slots for a triage call back, so essentially, try again tomorrow. This isn't acceptable and the remedial plan is obviously not working. Have emailed NHS England to complain.
  2. Thank you, Moderator. And yes, I agree with the sensible people on this. Let's just call it a day on this thread & stick with internal communication set up by the school, parents or PTA. See you all soon!
  3. Thank you to all of the current parents of the school who have answered my thread and made useful comments. Thank you also for making us prospective parents feel welcome in the school community. To anyone who is on here just to slate a brand new school that they have nothing to do with themselves, your views (whilst you are of course entitled to give them if you really feel you need to) are not helpful. This is because: a) you have nothing to do with the school and so are relying on hearsay and/or your own political views; and b) funnily enough, the parents of pupils who have been offered a place in September do not have much other choice in the matter as East Dulwich is a busy place with lots of kids. We therefore are not shopping around, picking and choosing a school that is perfect in every way. Generally, we are doing what most others around us are doing and sending our children to our local school. If this is such a terrible thing which you feel you need to try and put us off, I'd suggest it is you that has a problem, not the school. Frankly, I think it is a bit weird scouring the forum looking for stuff to make unhelpful negative comments on. I'd have thought people would have better things to do with their time. Like the other people on here, I of course want to hear the negative stuff IF it comes first hand from current or past parents. Otherwise, I'd rather hear how parents are working with the new head to make a great new school. Goodness, who'd have thought such a simple question would lead to such debate!
  4. Thank you to everyone who has posted on here so far - I really appreciate your feedback. We have indeed been offered a place at the Harris Primary and are (as many others are) happy with a few reservations. Our son was at Goose Green nursery so I guess we are concerned about the transition and upheaval. However, given how welcoming and friendly the current parents have already shown themselves to be on this thread, I don't feel that any of us are going to have problems settling into the new community. I am hugely in favour of a get-together in the park. Thank you for making us all feel so welcome.
  5. Hi there Has anyone got any feedback so far please? I know its early days for a very new school but I'd love to hear your views so far on the head, the teaching staff and the general 'feel' of the place. We're considering this for our son next year. Thanks
  6. Agree, seems totally pointless. Think I'll voice my opinions to some poor unexpecting member of staff next time i see one.
  7. Have they said they are going to restore the "every ten minutes-ish" service at some point?
  8. Many thanks. Shame they're doing this, just means the trains will be even more cramped!
  9. Thanks. I had assumed that was only relevant for last week whilst LB was shut.....obviously not.
  10. Train times between East Dulwich and London Bridge seem to have changed and also reduced in number. Any one know if these are permanent changes?
  11. Thinking of heading to the waverley tonight, anyone know if they are still doing those burgers?
  12. I'm no expert but i doubt it, think that's normally up to the landlord.
  13. Oh, looks like this thread has been moved to lounge as well now. From reading the landlords initial post on the other thread it sounds like its tied to Punch but that they've managed to retain a fair amount of freedom with regards to what they serve.
  14. Went again last night, the refurb has made a massive difference. Great to have such a good addition to the local area. As someone else posted in the lounge thread, also very refreshing for it not to be just another one of the intentikit corporate refurbs which you see in most other local pubs. They seem like nice people, so good luck to them.
  15. We've been a few times now and its great. The residents of Ivydale Road are very lucky with this one.
  16. We have an au pair / mother's help coming in July for one month only. I would like to offer her the opportunity to make some friends while she is here. She will be free evenings and weekends and may want someone to explore London with. If anyone else has an au pair who might be interested in meeting ours, please let me know. She is a 19 year old French girl.
  17. We have some weeds growing out of the rendering along our party wall towards the back of the house. Need someone with a long ladder to climb onto roof and spray plants with some weed killer. Very small job which shouldnt take more than 20 minutes. Cheers
  18. Colin put up a curtain rail for us over the weekend. Nice guy and turned up when he said he would. Will use again.
  19. Niko recently fixed a leaking toilet for us. Nice guy, efficient service, no fuss. Will use again.
  20. Has anyone got any views on the new manager yet? Would be interested to hear. Thanks.
  21. Thanks for the tips. Think we'll take a flask of fresh milk and some emergency formula. Urgh, sooooooo much hand luggage!
  22. We have the pleasure of an 11 hour flight with a 1 year old and a 2 year old next week. Does anyone know if BA provides full fat milk (in serious quantities) for babies' bottles? Any other tips gratefully received too! Thanks
  23. Anyone know if its open tomorrow for morning coffee? Thanks.
  24. Quick recommendation for Terry. Have used him few few times for different things around the house. Friendly, honest guy who always turns up when he says he will. Happy to recommend. His number is 07717572036.
  25. Apparently there was a burglary on crystal palace road and they jumped over the garden fence on to ulverscroft (down the side passage half way down the road).
