  1. Totally expect to have to queue to collect parcels pre Christmas, but had to wait 40 minutes this morning only to be told they can?t find my parcels but ?they must be there? so call again tomorrow. Reckon half the people in the queue ahead of me were similarly told their parcel couldn?t be found, for some it was their 2nd attempt. Their advice is to go in the afternoon if you don?t want to queue - extended opening hours pre- Christmas.
  2. The generators powering the light had tenporaririly stopped working but after raising it to Kier they fixed it same day.
  3. Thanks for posting, I?d noticed this too the other night but must have been in the middle of something and had forgotten - I?ve just emailed Kier and cc?d the local councillors as it?s a worry as you say.
  4. I've been through this lots of times and finally got confirmation from the council that you should just be able to call to get a PCN issued by the enforcement officer. You don't need to fill in the form (only if you want every single car parking their ticketed - which for me wouldn't work as often neighbour's struggling to find spaces will park outside mine after checking with me). Unfortunately several of the staff manning the phone line are adamant that you do, frustrating! If you PM me your email I'd be happy to share the email I got and the head of parking's email address if you are struggling to get anywhere.

I live nearby and have a photo from back in June last year of 3 portacabin kitchens - they had the 'restaurant' name on each one but I can't remember them now. No consultation with nearby residents and I'm unclear as to whether they have the correct planning permissions, have been asking James Barber but haven't heard back. The recent news articles suggest not.
  6. Lost my son's yellow mac somewhere on Melbourne Grove and Ashbourne. Have retraced steps a few times immediately so hopeful a kind person is taking care of it. His name is written inside.
  7. Does anyone have this info for 2017 admissions? Renata? Thanks
  8. This might also be of interest, for anyone wanting to actively try to tackle it - they run action events in 15 boroughs including Southwark in partnership with local council - provide training and then pair people up to approach car drivers idling to try and encourage them to change their behaviour. https://idlingaction.london/
  9. Looking at Southwark's website they are interested in people reporting engine idling 'hotspots' to them, nothing about one-offs. Would help address engine idling around schools at least, if people report it. http://www.southwark.gov.uk/air-quality/reporting-air-quality-complaints
  10. I thought the school arranged its own bus to transport children to the temporary site - with pick up/drop offs from Sainsbury's - have they stopped this?
  11. Yes sorry you're right, Blackwater. Thanks.
  12. Parents please be careful on Bassano Street down from William Rose, looks like an accident waiting to happen! I've reported to the council and tried knocking to make the owner aware but weren't in. In hindsight I wish I'd just removed them but I was distracted by a hungry baby. https://imgur.com/gallery/epxq5
  13. Does anyone know which are the latest approved plans? I'm looking on Southwark's planning website and I'm baffled by the number of submissions. Thanks
  14. Does anyone have an update (or know where we would get one) as to when the bridge will open? Thanks
  15. Would definitely recommend a private room if you can, was a totally diff experience for me 2nd time round having got a private room v being on ward for a few nights previously and not getting much sleep at all. Make sure your midwife knows as soon as you arrive that you want one, obv no guarantees but the sooner you let them know the better. Think I had it in my birth plan too! Good luck

  19. Sorry to hear you had a bad experience. I went awhile ago on the advice of our HV to see if my daughter had tongue tie, was strongly signposted to that particular group as the tongue tie specialist would be there - except she wasn't and the ladies there were unable to help. The other new mum attending had also been advised to go by HV for tongue tie diagnosis, so disappointment all round! They recommended going to Crawford children's centre in Camberwell, and their support and advice was fab. So I'd maybe try and find a different session if still needed. There's a Facebook page with details of when/where the different groups are - Lambeth & Southwark Breastfeeding Group
  20. http://idlingaction.london/volunteers/ Volunteers needed for action days in Southwark to raise awareness of engine idling - looks as though the last one was at Peckham Rye
  21. A fantastic charity http://www.salsshoes.com/
  22. Yep, exactly MissKing - which is why I'm really concerned and motivated to try and do something about it, somehow. Thanks for the PTA suggestion Jules, I'd be interested to know what schools are doing to encourage parents to walk instead of drive, and whether they have tried to raise awareness on specifics such as engine idling. Can't help but notice lots of car pick ups for Goose Green. Not sure if other schools the same.
