  4. I'd never even heard of her. It was that Shelock actor bloke who finally led me to her! Here we go again - first clue: This character is one half of a detective duo
  5. Queenie Bligh/Small Island
  6. Can we have another clue please?!
  7. Season 1 = Massive advertising campaign, in the press, clips shown on tv, billboards etc. I remember seeing a giant poster under Herne Hill railway bridge. It was shown at 10pm on a Sunday night, which is a peak viewing slot. Season 2 = Advertised briefly in the press & a few trailers shown on tv. Moved to a Monday night at 10pm, so obviously viewing figures won't be as good. Season 3 = Nothing! I only knew it was on because it was due back in the summer, so I was checking tv schedules. I didn't even see it advertised on the channel itself. Episode one, 11 pm, Saturday night. Great, except the following Saturday, everybody sat down to watch episode two, only to find 'Big Brother' instead. No explanation, even though it was advertised in all the tv mags/papers etc. Apparently due to poor viewing figures after the first episode, they decided to move it to Mon at midnight, with a repeat on 5* on Sunday. After one episode? What a joke! There were hundreds of complaints on the Channel 5 website, resulting in the main episodes now being shown on Sun at 10pm on 5*, followed by the repeat at midnight Monday. I've not missed this once since it began & am really annoyed that the programme isn't being given the recognition & airtime it deserves. It is really popular in the US & could be the same here, if Channel 5 bothered to promote it properly. Next they'll be saying they won't be buying the next series, due to poor viewing figures. They did exactly the same with 'Dallas'. Halfway through the second season, they decided to change the timeslot from 9pm to 11pm & most people switched off. They really haven't got a clue.
  8. First Mate, You are always one of the first people to offer advice about dogs, also one of the first people to offer help regarding dog problems. Because of your intervention, hopefully this poor little dog has been saved. I would just like to say thank-you for all you are doing, on behalf of all dogs etc. I'm sure it is greatly appreciated by all animal lovers like myself xx
  9. Looks like Channel 5 are trying to kill this off. They obviously don't know when they are on to a good thing.
  10. Inspector George Gently?
  11. Charles Ryder/Brideshead Revisited?
  12. Kingsley Shacklebolt?

  15. Next clue: Quite a few decades ago, you might have met him while on a trip to the seaside!
  16. My character is a person from a book, a film and a play, and a lot more unlikeable than Mr Blobby!
  17. Thanks. Count me in then!
  18. No to both, but EP is closer.
  19. Can I play?
  20. Not him either!
  21. No, not him
  22. First clue: Very colourful, but not very likeable
  23. I was looking for a fictional character rather than a real person, hence the confusion! In the end I typed in 'gaelic drinking songs' which led me to the song above & found out it was written by the same 'Harry Lauder' who wrote the Birmingham FC song. So I finally made the connection! I'll be back with my first clue in the morning.
  24. Harry Lauder?

It's the national day of Scotland It's Birmingham City's football ground It's a golf course It's probably the name of numerous churches/cathedrals And I'm still none the wiser!
