  1. Dolly Levi/ Hello Dolly
  2. Phew! He's finally woken up & is getting his act together. Just hope it lasts.
  3. Thanks everyone. I'll check out all the links this evening.
  4. Can anyone recommend any good places to eat in/around Covent Garden. A bit short notice as I'm going there tomorrow. I've googled The Punch & Judy (which I've also looked down at, but never visited), The Porterhouse, Maple Leaf etc, but would like some advice please. Has to be a nice pub, rather than a restaurant, not expensive as funds are limited! Also, has to have a few vegetarian choices.
  5. The Count/ The boat that rocked?
  6. Robinson Crusoe?
  7. Chuck Noland/Castaway?

I just thought you couldn't be bothered to tax your brain thinking up clues on this lovely, sunny weekend! As for T. Hardy, I agree his books were a bit dreary, but the film & tv adaptions were great.
  9. Well done civilservant, Tess of the D'Urbervilles is right. Thomas Hardy's ill-fated heroine (married to 'Angel' Clare. I also think EP knew it ages ago, but for some reason, didn't post the answer! So I guess........ It's over to you.
  10. 1) Sounds 2) NME 3) Melody Maker They were proper music papers. NME is a mag now & the only one left but not the same anymore. Do you remember all the ads in the back pages for the Athena posters? Magic. And so missed.
  11. Peckhamgatecrasher Wrote: ------------------------------------------------------- > Bathsheba (as in Gabriel)? Another close guess, but not quite there yet Eta: It was a different Angel. Bathsheba wasn't ill-fated. She had a happy ending. My character didn't.
  12. No Foxy, the earlier guesses(after the first clue) were closer.
  13. Ok. Another clue: She met an angel
  14. You should always put underwired bras inside a pillow case, tie a knot in it, then put it in the machine. That way, the wires won't escape. A plumber advised me to do this, after I had to call him out once & he found wires caught in the filter.
  15. No, My character is a heroine, rather than a hero.
  16. Very close EP, but not the right person.
  17. Thanks Foxy. Here's an easier one from me this time. First clue: The only way is Wessex! for this ill-fated character.
  18. Michael Gothard
  19. Have you not got a removeable filter somewhere at the bottom of the machine? If so, if you take it out, you may find it inside.
  20. Malcolm McDowell/ A Clockwork Orange
  21. Really? Just shows that I know nothing about Winnie the Pooh. Shame on me!!
  22. Buzz Lightyear?
  23. Ok. I'll try another path later. I'm supposed to be working!!
  24. Bad Lieutenant?
