  1. Is there any news from Southwark on the proposed East Dulwich CPZ.
  2. I think it can be worth attending if you have a specific project. A few years ago I got the exact shower our builder had recommended at half price in an offer at the exhibition. But I agree there is a lot of overpriced rubbish at these events.
  3. I saw a man in Morrison?s using the self check out a couple of weeks ago. When the recorded woman?s voice said ?thank you for shopping at Morrison?s ? the man said ?you are most welcome and bowed deeply and theatrically at the machine.
  4. There were two general less detailed maps. The earlier (purple map) includes Townley Road but the later (pink) one doesn?t. Townley Road is not part of the proposed CPZ on the detailed map either.
  5. Thank you Callie and Countrlass22 for your advice and help.
  6. This morning I was coming down the stairs when I saw a Royal Mail card come partly through the letterbox. Nobody had rung the bell, which was working. The card announced a special delivery parcel for a person unknown to me but with our address. As nobody of that name has lived here for at least 33 years, if ever, I do not understand how this has happened. If anyone knows K Doragh, (or I C Doragh) we have a card about their parcel, which is apparently at the delivery office in Highshore Road. Why did Royal Mail make no attempt to deliver the parcel, when I could have told them nobody of that name lived at our address? Or is this some kind of scam?
  7. I see there are two different maps, one seems to include Townley Road but the newer one doesn?t. Has the CPZ area been reduced?

I thought from looking at the map that Townley Road is included. Can anyone confirm one way or the other. We live in Beauval Road and I am assuming we will get the cars from the Health Centre, dentist, and the staff and students from Alleyn?s school.

They deliver and install very swiftly. I also like Argos s lot so long as you know what you want.
  10. You can buy cookware at Farmers and a lamp at Mrs Robinson and other shops, Sainsbury?s sell bedding, sheets and lamps. I suspect you could buy most of the items listed by Dulwich Fox in charity shops and in other places in the area.
  11. Future learn has a very wide range of interesting g courses, mostly from universities, which are completely free. Do Have a look at their website. I have done one and enjoyed it immensely. You would only pay for a certificate if you wanted one.
  12. Are the buses still on diversion please? Does anyone know? I need to get a P4 to Crofton Park.
  13. We live on a road which borders the CPZ so we will have all the displacement parking, much of it, I am guessing, staff and students of Alleyn?s and Jags. I am at a loss to understand why the CPZ needs to stretch so far from East Dulwich Station, I don?t think we need a CPZ at all.
  14. I did lose several brooches on Lordship Lane near the Crystal Palace Road bus stop. They were butterflies and dragonflies and a lizard. Is the one you found one of those?
  15. We had one yesterday who wants to know if others had knocked recently.
  16. I have from time to time seen several people openly shoplifting in the Co-op and members of the shop staff saw the shoplifters as well but did nothing. The shoplifters didn?t have calico bags though.
  17. I have also found it pretty scary to cross Lordship Lane fairly near Milo Road as cars coming up the hill seem to continue to accelerate when they reach the flatter part of the road. It does certainly need a pedestrian crossing. This adds to the list of places locally where accidents have happened and will happen again. The Junction by the old Grove Tavern is another and East Dulwich Grove junction with Lordship Lane yet another.
  18. Did you check out the Evening Standard lunch offers which are still running until about 10th February. Various prices from ?15 for two courses with wine. I have used this offer and found it good value.
  19. See if an animal charity would lend you a trap, perhaps, then keep the wanderer indoors for a couple of weeks. Perhaps he is looking for lady cats.
  20. Oh dear I gave them a donation the other day because I felt sorry for the girl belting out Rudolph the Red Nosed Reindeer with some mistakes in the lyrics and slightly off key at times.
  21. Lush is trading here until 29 December I believe. They will still trade at their shop in Greenwich and online. Sorry to see them go from Lordship Lane.
  22. There was a Boots chemist in Sainsbury?s Dog Kennel Hill years ago. I seem to remember it occupied the space where Starbucks is now but it didn?t get a licence so it closed.
  23. I think there is a place in the Lewisham shopping centre where gifts can be given for less fortunate people.
