I'd prefer if he wasn't banned just yet anyway, so I could respond to him and him to me. I don't believe a human being can be really that nasty without a good reason. I'd like to understand what it is.
  2. Jeez, that chap knows more about me than I do. I'm only sorry I can't exchange some views with him regarding his comments about me.

  5. Silverfox Science may be able to explain 'how' life exists. It can't possibly explain 'why' it exists though.
  6. 2+2=4....we know that. The problem with your method of resolving problems is to have a meeting about it............like in a couple of years. Then you'll decide the answer is 4. I wonder will that be the number of people killed because of that junction by then?
  7. So the league is as good as over then?

So you agree anyone going at 70 in any lane is ok then provided they don't get too close to another vehicle?
  9. So you two know how to play politics. When the first person is killed at THAT junction, who will you blame? I've already said it's safer to approach Barry Road from Silvester Road. Why not make it 'no entry', so people have to? How much can it cost to put up a frigging sign?
  10. Dear ManOfTheCloth, I am at a loss for words. I would rather God worked on me than through me. However I don't wish to be pedantic given your uplifting post. People may not agree with you and neither might I, but there is no harm, and possibly a good deal of good to be had, in telling people there is something to live for! The only problem I have with 'God' is that he is now defined by religions. The proof of his/hers/it's existence is life. Are we a fluke? Why is the earth so beautiful? Why can we appreciate beauty? What is it in us that allows us to do that? Why do we love? Who invented 'love'? There is no actual need for it to exist in this life, but it happens. Finally, why do you say God is working through me? This is a big thread and like you I haven't read everything. Why me? I'm not a Saint am I? PS joking about the saint bit

Well excuse me but I'm an inside lane driver unless I have to overtake. What pisses me off is all those drivers who overtake me on the outside lane going well over 70. Pick on them for a change.
  12. James,a simple question as this is your thread and I voted for you in the last election. You may have answered it elsewhere but I dont read everything. What are you doing about the Barry Road/Underhill Road junction safety issue? Someone will die there very soon if it isn't sorted out. Sorry to be so blunt. I just don't want that to happen when it would be so easy to avoid.
  13. A sub committee meeting............you are joking? Where are there more accidents in the area?

Oh holy mother of Mary and all the Saints in every part of the Universe..........who obeys the Highway Code and it's 70 mph limit. The looneys in the outside lane don't. Leave the middle lane plodders alone.

The IRFU it seems have admitted their mistake. Bit late though. By the way there is a rugby matters thread for those interested in the subject. As for today, Ireland and SA were abject. NZ are good but not unbeatable and England will get better. I haven't seen Wales v Oz yet but saw the Aussies last w/end.Great backline. Decent forwards and they could win the WC.

I don't use motorways often but usually the inside lane is too slow and the outside lane is too fast. If there is a lack of traffic I'd always choose the inside lane as it feels safer. However to accuse people in the middle lane as being 'hoggers' suggests to me that you prefer to break the speed limit in the middle lane.Maybe there is less likelihood of you being caught as there is always some idiot going faster on the outside lane.

DJ....you cycle don't you? You can have an opinion on anything you want but an informed opinion would be good sometimes. The highway code I'm pretty sure states the speed limit on a motorway is 70 mph. If someone is doing that safely in the middle lane, what exactly is the problem?
  18. ..........and 3 pens!
  19. In retrospect it would seem to me that the crossing would be of more use on the other side of the junction. At least when you see the lights are red it takes the lack of vision out of the picture.

  21. As I've mentioned before it's safer for drivers to approach Barry Rd from Silvester Road, turn left (having a much better view of what's coming from the right) and then right into Underhill.
  22. This thread would appear to be more about fun than football! Re: Ladies kickabout football for fun Posted by: dita-on-tees Yesterday, 08:37AM To cheer you up - this both mortified me and made me laugh this morning... So I am somewhat hormonal and feeling a little sketchy... listening to my ipod coming up from the tube trying to swipe out of the barriers at CW, oyster not working, swipe again and again.... queue building up and tutting behind me. Obviously I am frustrated at my 5th attempt - its not even beeping. This is actually because I am trying to exit the tube with an individually wrapped sanitary towel which I had shoved in my pocket this morning, EPIC FAIL Morning all!

I disagree. The law imposes the speed restriction not someone driving at 70 mph. I'm amazed so many people are using the law to point out that one shouldn't use the middle lane when the inside lane is available but on the other hand imply it's impolite to those drivers who wish to break the speed limit.
  25. The perils of motorway driving!
