  1. Exactly the same thing happened to us. Applied for a permit renewal well before the old one had expired, mandated them to take the payment and received confirmation email. We didn?t think any more about it until we got a ticket! We?ve challenged the fine and emailed our local councillor.
  2. We?ve had the same issue with a parking permit renewal. Applied in good time, received acknowledgement of application but as they haven?t taken the money, we?ve now been fined for parking outside our own house.
  3. Ray has just finished decorating a bedroom for us. I?m so pleased with the result. He stripped the old wallpaper and replaced with lining paper and painted to a very high standard. Ray is an extremely tidy worker and very straightforward to deal with. I hope to use him again in the future.
  4. > Wild swimming = swimming (or swimming in the > lake/sea/river) Can I add ?foraging?? It used to be just blackberry picking or whatever 🤷‍♀️
  5. Nighttime reading is great with the Kindle Paperwhite. I like to keep the room dark so no need to turn on the bedside light. I was sceptical about Kindles when they first came out. I love mine now, wouldn?t be without it.
  6. We picked some today in the Ide Hill/Toys Hill area near Westerham, Kent. Lovely bluebell woods in full bloom too.
  7. If she?s local and an art lover, maybe membership of the Dulwich Picture Gallery?https://www.dulwichpicturegallery.org.uk/join-support/friends-patrons/join-the-friends/
  8. Sorted the problem by quitting out of Safari and reopening.
  9. I?ve just experienced the same thing yet earlier in the day I could view photos without problem.
  10. I booked mine via the NHS link above. I chose a time and date to suit and had my jab yesterday at a local pharmacy. Excellent service. I was literally in and out in five minutes.
  11. Ours often doesn?t get collected if left on the ground next to the bigger bins. We?ve now taken to putting it on top of the brown bin on collection day.
  12. I agree that Phil was a bit meh, but the two Irish guys were even more annoying with all their manic press-ups!
  13. Thanks for this. It made me nostalgic for pre-COVID times. Loved Ken?s and Rovi!
  14. Jay Rayner?s column in the Observer yesterday focused on takeaways including a few not far from ED. I particularly like the sound of Limett Bistrot In West Dulwich. https://www.theguardian.com/food/2020/may/24/its-time-for-a-takeaway-and-there-is-a-dazzling-array-of-offerings-available
  15. Your work experience/qualifications may not be directly comparable to the templates you?ve seen but you can adapt as required. I would suggest a format similar to this example, i.e. start with a brief personal statement of your background and objectives, followed by your work history (most recent first) then academic/qualifications. Another tip - no longer than two sides of A4, preferably one. If you?ve been out of the workplace for a number of years, the personal statement would be a good place to give your reasons and to demonstrate you?re ready for a new challenge. https://images.app.goo.gl/Cb21Laer8bTsaoDp6
  16. Does anyone know if Norwood Roofing would be able to repair a damaged lead roof?
  17. Yay! Finally a useful shop in Camberwell. *Edited to say in addition to the art shop*

(omg, do I need to spell it out?) The UK was a founding member of the Powering Past Coal alliance. https://poweringpastcoal.org/profiles/united-kingdom. It?s already way ahead of many other countries in the west.
  19. We finally got our separate brown caddy style bin which I?ve been using for food waste but this wasn?t emptied yesterday. They did empty the tiny amount of garden waste that was in the big brown bin but left a week?s worth of stinking food waste in the hot sun for another week! ^ ^ UPDATE - I reported the non collection and they did come back on Monday to empty the food waste!
  20. I also see many people boarding number 12s without tapping in their cards. If presumably demand is measured by paying customers, these people are hitting services for the rest of us.

  22. I would guesstimate around 30 minutes at that time of day.
  23. See the bluebell woods section in Amac?s excellent https://kentwalksnearlondon.com
  24. We used to use http://www.thecatteryse20.co.uk/index.html in Anerley.
  25. This happens to us all the time, particularly the green and brown bins. I?ve actually begun to wonder if the brown bin service has dropped from weekly to every other week. I?ve logged non collections on the link above but it doesn?t seem to make any difference.
