  1. 'White' at Royal Festival Hall? Also have a look at the Albany.
  2. Simon Turgoose at the Vale Practice is a brilliant osteopath - I went to him during both my pregnancies and it really helped.
  3. You could have it at home if you have the space...
  4. This may be too late for you but it wasn't working this afternoon and there was no water at Brockwell Park either. It's been a very hot dry day! Does anyone know if Ruskin Park or Myatt's Fields have water?
  5. It's quite an honour to have a whole thread about your whereabouts....
  6. Hi James, Fellbrigg Rd could do with a weed too. Thanks again.
  7. I have a catbirdbaby Pikkolo and I really like it. It's soft but no faffy wrapping and baby can face out, which was crucial for me. I bought it with the extra hip support, which you do need once your baby weighs much, but I think it distributes the weight well. You would be welcome to borrow it for a bit.
  8. Also, neither of the gates to the new one o clock club enclosure actually closes properly - they can't be bolted because there doesn't appear to be a slot for the bolt to slide into. My 14 month old managed to open one of them on her own. Sigh. This morning I did talk to a couple of councillors and one didn't see any problem with the lack of fence and someone else said it would have cost ?20k to fence it. But what's the point of spending the money on a play area if you haven't got the basics right? As well as the dog/dog poo issue, there are cyclists whizzing past and the usual tendency of young children to suddenly run away at high speed without warning, usually towards the road.
  9. And also no sun, because even where the scar is currently invisible if the skin becomes tanned there will be white scars that last forever, according to my GP.
  10. There are some v cheap v light looking pushchairs on the Argos site. They could be rubbish though. I was going to get a volo but didn't because the seat doesn't recline so if your child falls asleep they can slump forward. It depends how much you are bothered about other features.
  11. Any thoughts on balance bikes? Are they good? Any models any better than others? Thanks in advance.
  12. We saw a Kings orthoptist at Townley Rd clinic, referred by HV at 8 month check. She was great. I don't know how they do it but they can check even under-1s. It's def worth getting a referral, either just for reassurance or to have them in the system. Both of my kids' vision is fine but they are being reviewed in 6 months because of family history of short sight etc.
  13. I saw an anti-escape kit for carseats in Bromley Boots on Tuesday. Didn't look closely but may be worth investigating if that's an issue for you.
  14. Also, as with some other new bus models, you can't fit a Phil and Ted's buggy down the aisle because of the position of the vertical bar. I think you're supposed to get on at the back door but the drivers don't always point this out.
  15. I did exactly what you're thinking of a while back, making sure both were within the minimum weight band for the tobi/rodi. No problems at all with napping in the rodi, though my little boy can fall asleep pretty much anywhere - including standing on the buggy board! There's no way he could undo the seatbelt. I'm very happy with the arrangement and so are the children. My younger one hated being in a rear-facing seat. As long as you've checked the weights I think it will be fine. Tobi/rodi both do well in Which? tests.
  16. What about the wildlife garden? Only open some days. See http://www.wildlondon.org.uk/Naturereserves/CentreforWildlifeGardening/tabid/125/language/en-GB/Default.aspx Dulwich/Sydenham woods for a romp around. Crystal palace park with dinosaurs, farm, playground etc (farm open 12-4 not Wed). All free!
  17. Browse the cereal aisle... I got an offer on Raisin Wheats, but not valid in August.
  18. I wish I could! Why don't you take your file in to see a friendly GP?
  19. My son woke every half an hour at 5 months and my health visitor told me to start solids. The official advice is, of course, exclusive breastfeeding for 6 months, but he did start sleeping better almost as soon as he had solids. Coincidence? I'll never know. But it's something to think about.
  20. Lovely thread. Dig, Dig, Digging Busy builders (and others eg Busy Park) Buster's zoo Maisy goes to the museum
  21. I think it's one waitress in particular who really specialises in dirty looks and treats customers like an inconvenience. Goodness knows why she's in that line of work. I had wondered if she was related to the owner because I couldn't see why else anyone would employ her.
  22. That's a tricky one red1. I wouldn't do something like that to discipline my children but I'm a total softy. Unless you really think the kids are being harmed I don't think you should get involved. But you can keep an eye on things.
  23. I've had terrible, terrible service in there several times, not just slow but also appallingly rude and unsmiling and vowed never to go back, even though I really really want it to be good. I also suggested more highchairs the week they opened - clearly nobody paid any attention. If the owner reads this, observe in secret how some of your staff treat your customers and sack accordingly, then hire staff who like people, including children.
  24. Thanks so much for all your very helpful responses. Good old family room! I'm feeling really excited about it now.
  25. Thank you! The classes look really good.
