Toujours range is Lidl and I second that they're very good and so reasonable! Work for us at night too. Found that the Sainsbury ones would not last the night

http://www.economist.com/news/britain/21696966-teachers-england-gripe-about-long-hoursand-justly-so-all-work-and-low-pay This article helps give those who are not teachers some context to the situation in the UK. Furious has our support. -

We've got around 18 good quality fitted cloth nappies that we no longer need. There doesn't seem to be a market for second hand cloth nappies any more and I was wondering if anyone had any bright ideas of what to do with them?? Many thanks

I'm looking for inspiration. My 4 yo son has just had tonsils and adenoids out. We can't mix with any kids for 2 weeks to reduce infection risk and he can't do anything too strenuous yet. I'm running out of ideas already of keeping him and one year old sister entertained. Park is OK but not when it's raining. Have been to the library and horniman already. Has anyone been in the same boat? Any ideas for places to go? We all get itchy feet if stay in the house too long so puzzles and crafts will only take us so far (plus repeat viewings of toy story!) Thanks in advance

Hello We've got a glut of various veg in our garden and wondered if anyone fancied doing a swap if you're in the same situation! At the moment looking to swap French beans and Swiss chard. In a couple of weeks, I think we'll be inundated with courgettes and lemon cucumbers.

Rejoice, rejoice Gove has gone. I believe that he is one of the most toxic education secretaries ever to hold the post. I genuinely don't understand why people think that they know better than trained professionals and are quite happy to constantly teacher bash. Why? I'm not a teacher but know of many committed, brilliant teachers that work ridiculous hours for OK pay who are being constantly underminded and belittled by politics in general and the greater public. As for Gove himself, just familiarise yourselves with the utter debarcle of Sullivan school in Hammersmith and Fulham to find out what happens when you put educational idealism ahead of an actual interest in education. This is in addition to rubber stamping the sale of school playing fields, positively encouraging the setting up of taxfunded faith schools with very dubious creationist values, cancelling the "Building Schools for the Future Programme", scrapping the minimium requirement for physical education in schools and ensuring that local authorities have little or no control over the number of school places in their area. And other hundreds of little measures that have devalued and discredited the teaching profession. Utter knobhead.

Had lunch there on a week day last year. Mind you it was in August so don't know if they have different hours in the summer.

I'm cursing my stupidity but I left our well used and much loved red mclaren quest on the pavement at the bottom of crystal palace road about 11.30 today. It has a black mclaren footmuff and a rain cover in the bottom. If anyone has seen it / rescued it please let me know! A bottle of wine for safe return! Many thanks

Harris East Dulwich Reception 2014
LauraHW replied to Caroline_S's topic in The Family Room Discussion
That sounds like a lovely idea. We've yet to decide on what we're doing. Apologies for slightly hijacking the thread but we missed the meetings so really don't know anything about what the school will offer. Can anyone share what they have gleaned so far? Many thanks -

We've been offered a place at Harris too and are not overly happy with the local authority school we've been offered. What to do! Is it a gamble sending LO to school we know very little about? I just don't know. Also if we take up the offer of at a free school does that mean we're endorsing Gove?! ;0)
