  2. What does Surbiton have that ED doesn't have? A subversive Subbuteo Club it seems. Time to up our game?!? ;-) https://www.facebook.com/SSCinSurbiton/
  3. Stunning. Great pic. :)
  4. The intensity of a nightlight, particularly if it's not aimed directly at your face, is not likely to be great enough to disrupt sleep cycles. Just don't leave it too close to the bed, or pointing directly into your LO's face. (You'll likely cause more disruption by taking away the nightlight.) xx

    Insomnia

Ah sorry to hear that. :( I missed an appointment with my haem consultant ~two years ago. It took me 6 months to rebook. By then I had to go back through my GP, so I put it off for a year. Then it took another 6 months to get a referral. I saw the same haem consultant -- and she remembered me after all that time! :) Yeah it's a pain, but I'd rather the NHS than US style healthcare any day (having experienced both). I've been feeling a bit sorry for myself. But you know the grass is greener where you water it. If not London, then where? Mixed bags etc ad finitum. xx

Unless they were > already travelling, for example for work purposes. SNARL have stated that it is likely the cat killer travels for work. They have also indicated that certain forensic details are intentionally being withheld, so that copycats can be excluded. The recent arrest unfortunately does not seem to be the serial killer, just a random sicko. :(
  11. Mirena IUS and Paraguard IUD (copper coil) are similar sizes. Jaydess is the smaller IUS recently available, which may be easier to fit for some women. Many GPs won't fit a coil because it's a specialist procedure, and a "blind" procedure, so their experience and competence needs to be extra high as a gyne practitioner for coils. If your GP doesn't have a gyne background, then they're not likely to do this procedure. I know it's not the area you're looking for, but I use the Waldron sex health clinic in New Cross, and they have been excellent. If you go for a walk-in, expect a long wait. Or, you can book an appointment. xx
  12. All of these concerns can be addressed in various ways, even in complex teams. I've see it work, though you're free to remain unconvinced of course. xx

My husband does this as well, and he's not an odd job man. He works at the mid-level of the market. He leaves tools securely on site at the start of a job, and gets materials delivered. It does not add notably to the cost. He takes public transport or cycles.
  14. The Wonder Weeks is an excellent book on early development. It doesn't tell you how to be a parent, but it helps explain why babies act the way they do according to developmental leaps. It's easy to read and forms a good foundation for implementing other parenting strategies. xx

Not pompous at all Malumbu, imho, to expect posters to engage in a discussion rather than simply repeatedly bumping posts without any topic development. I think others have made some excellent points, and I'd be very interested in reading further debate. xx
  20. Congratulations first of all, midivydale! I've no idea what happens next, but it sounds like you've made an excellent start. Perhaps forumite Sillywoman can shed further light? Message her on the forum? Or, if you PM me, I can put her in touch with you IRL. xx

Indeed, Pato. Indeed. Nevertheless it remains the case that Ron's Ron shirt is just as bed as Ron himself.
  22. Our letting agent uses this one: The Washing Machine Doctor 07973-518587. He was polite and competent, but there was a lot of mansplaining I could have done without (bc obvs women know nothing about washing machines I guess?). No idea about the price (owners paid), but the machine is fixed. xx

It's just a mystery why single ladies aren't flocking to you!
  24. Agreed, womanofdulwich, re expressing and bottles. Also worth pointing out that the price of a meal has literally zero to do with where you can breastfeed, which is actually a right protected under the Equalities Act 2010 (England and Wales). So, yes, others can indeed lump it.
