  1. Today is World Kindness Day, a day celebrated around the world with random acts of kindness and good deeds. At the Red Box Project, we run on kindness. And we know the difference tiny acts can make to people?s lives. Like that packet of pads someone kindly donated in an office collection a couple of weeks ago. That was kindly packaged up and sent to us by their Marketing Manager. That was bagged up last night by one of our coordinators and today is being delivered to a big south east London secondary school. Where one day soon, a girl will start her period in the middle of a lesson. With nothing in her bag, she?ll go and ask for the Red Box and she will find that pack of pads. And because of that tiny moment of kindness in a central London office a few weeks ago, she?ll carry on with her day. Thinking about what she?s learning. Doing sports. Joining in with her friends. Preparing for her future. That?s the power of kindness. If you?d like to celebrate World Kindness Day with us today, you can... ❤️ Drop a packet of period products into your local donation box. You can find your nearest listed here https://www.facebook.com/media/set/? ❤️ Donate ?5 to us so we can buy some fresh underwear to put in our boxes https://www.justgiving.com/crowdfund?/redboxprojectselondon1 See how good it feels ❤️

  4. Good evening, We?re looking for local businesses to help support the Red Box Project, https://www.facebook.com/theredboxprojectuk/ a community project working to tackle period poverty in East Dulwich. The Red Box Project takes donations of sanitary products from members of the public and puts them into boxes, which we take into schools for young women to use. We currently provide over 100 boxes in south east London and are looking for donation points in local businesses to help us grow even more. If you work at a supermarket, pharmacy or other store that sells sanitary products, we would love to hear from you. Tesco?s, Sainsburys, Morrison?s and the Coop have all been very supportive of the Red Box Project in other parts of the country but we?re struggling to make the right contacts here. Please message me to find out more about how you can help. 6. Just a warning to keep an eye out as approx. 3.30 this afternoon a young girl had an item stolen by two young men on a moped near the Herne Tavern. They rode across Piermont Green up Piermont Road. She bravely gave chase but they got away.
  7. Periods won?t stop for the holidays, so neither will we. If you know of a youth centre, summer camp or community space where young people will spend time this summer, please do get in touch or suggest that they approach The Red Box Project to be provided with a box of free period products. No young person should be without adequate menstrual protection, whatever the time of year. 8. As we are entering those Summer months, please spare a thought for the girls who have to skip school, wear certain clothing and are unable to participate in some summer activities because they cannot afford Sanitary Wear. Would you be interested in having a donation box for our project in your workplace or shop. We collect period products from our community & deliver them to local schools for young people who could otherwise go without. If you would like a red box for your school or play scheme please contact us. Thanks very much for taking the time to read this. I look forward to hearing from you.
