Hi I am thinking of sending my wee one to piplings nursery, I've seen that it has a great ofsted report. Does anyone have or has had a child there? What do/did you think? Are you happy? Any feedback would be really appreciated because the whole nursery thing is a minefield. Thanks

hi all i'm planning ahead as I understand that it is tricky to find places in SE15/SE22 for children.... will have to sadly go back to work in Sept 11 so am looking at options now... just looking to understand good/bad experiences of nurseries, shared nannies, childminders - any recommendations? I am staggered at the cost of daycare and am trying to get my head around what is/isn't included in the cost... to stop my head from spinning - any help would be gratefully received... thanks Cx

Hi can anyone recommend good nurseries worth looking at. Currently living in Peckham Rye/East Dulwich borders but may be living in Honor Oak Park by the time the baby goes to nursery so looking in both areas! any help or advice welcomed as I'm keen to only visit a few plus I understand some have a Hefty reservation charge. thanks C

hi all I am 21 weeks with my first baby. I am relatively keen on homebirth but my partner is very undecided... in fact, he's anxioius about us having our first baby at home and would rather we were in the birthing centre at kings and if all goes well, have a waterbirth 'next time'.. there is the added complication that as we live in a first floor flat, it may not be possible to have a waterbirth at home (due to weight of the pool)... i then become unsure about homebirth - without a water pool... I now have a place with the Lanes questions are: - do they only deliver at home? or if we decide on waterbirth in the birthing centre at Kings, will they still deliver our baby? - are they good? any advice/tips very gratefully received...

Anyone know of a good pregnancy yoga class?
neilly1973 replied to HollieES's topic in The Family Room Discussion
i really like the preg yoga class at ESPH on lordship lane - plus you get a full physio once over before you start buying books of classes for the classes themselves. really lovely teacher too. -
are the lanes just for home births? I have just got on the list with lanes and am really pleased but my partner is wavering on homebirth in favour of waterbirth at kings in the birthing centre (our first baby)... one of the main problems is living in a first floor flat and the weight of the birthing pool may be an issue for us... if we decide to go hospital instead of home, does anyone know if we will be able to stay with the lanes as I can't find a website for them... any knowledge/advice welcomed! thanks

everywhere in SE london - esp east dulwich moves - it's a fact. i'm yet to see a place that doesn't slope slightly or the walls are straight. i wouldn't let it put you off... i still went ahead. the insurance is a minor issue - I got mine through norwich union.

sorry. been off the air. With the butchers - it wasn't the fact that i couldn't order a turkey from them it was the 3rd degree, justify my existence and general rudeness that i object to. I think they could have been polite about it and i least i wouldn't have been entirely put off. As has already been mentioned - manners costs nothing.

I tried to order an turkey for christmas over the phone... after being given the 3rd degree that made me feel quite uncomfortable i was effectively told that i couldn't prove that i was a regular and as i always buy our meat from there they certainly wouldn't take a face to face order (with 50% deposit) from my boyfriend as they wouldn't recognise him. I couldn't believe how rude he was to me... i've been buying meat from William rose since I moved to ED in May. With an arrogant attitude like that he doesn't deserve the business which i have since taken elsewhere... it is now highly likely that i shall never queue outside his shop again.

I tried to order a turkey for christmas from the butchers on LL and they were really rude to me... I was grilled about how often i go to the shop, when was the last time, would they recognise my boyfriend or they wouldn't reserve for him... i've bought lots of meat from there not sure if i would measure up to scratch as a regular, plus as my boyfriend isn't the one that goes in there for meat they wouldn't reserve a turkey for him... i was Bl**dy incensed by this pathetic and arrogant service style. Tempted to boycott from hereonin... shame he doesn't want our cash deposit/future business - have gone elsewhere.... agree manners costs nothing... on a separate note, i always find that DIY dulwich bend over backwards to help whenever i go in...
