  1. cheers everyone. so i shall await further postings... LM - if i marinade them over night perhaps we could pass them off as tofu to the vegetarians and have a laugh behind their backs? though i suspect my eldest might be tough. that stubborn streak.
  2. hi I'm fairly new but would love to come along too. kids all right? lovely barbecued.
  3. losing the remote control. that drives me MENTAL. wish i could phone it like you do with your mobile.
  4. the cheapie waxy shiny stuff? yeah, i can see that.
  5. you could have the guy on my street who play two different types of music on two different stereos at the same time and 'raps/comments' along into a microphone!

  7. one of my children won't eat pasta because she says it is too like skin.
  8. birkenstocks.
  9. putting quilt covers on. or trying to get the ironing board back down again.
  10. our eldest's first word came out as a sentence and nearly caused a car crash too we laughed that much. from the back seat and out of no-where she suddenly roared 'Bang! And the dirt is gone!' we hadn't even had a da-da at that point.
  11. oh yes. because at least 4 other people declined theirs too i guess. can't even give it away!
  12. nope it was tescos. and i am a no bag girl too. and still they come. come to think of it - the mushroom came in one of the blue substitute bags. maybe in case i wanted to change it for a pea. in a whole other new bag of its own course. every little helps eh?
  13. so you're not the real santa then?
  14. didn't actually. still more intrigued than anything else at this point. though he hoped he peaked last night and there isn't more to come
  15. she doesn't need a new brain. she needs new parents. so did you oblige santa?
  16. one mushroom one time. that too had a whole plastic bag all to itself. i thought it was a mistake but who knows.
  17. i use the word music generously. there was some for a while, blues and then reggae, then that continued while at the same time on a different stereo (or whatever) the guy started playing what i can only try and describe - drum'n'bass with his own microphone into which he generously contributed lots of random tourettes type yelps, followed by lots of 'big boy man!'s and then i'm pretty sure he broadcast a wank! please tell me someone else heard it! it was from about two till four.
  18. when you do your grocery shopping on line and end up with four plastic bags full of tomatoes.
  19. i would have thought play-date with destiny a bit more mighty boosch than readers digest myself. guess it depends what you're in to.
  20. you really can't. i'm so annoyed i didn't write them down as they came - you think you'll always remember - but i can barely remember what happened yesterday. a friend of mine whose mother died was really torn about whether or not to bring her 6 year old daughter Sam to Granny's funeral. finally she decided she would, and would try and talk her through it, the realities of life etc... etc... When the coffin was carried into the church Sam asked what it was and was told 'That's (sympathetic tones) called a coffin. That's where Granny's body is.' Sam duly started roaring crying, escalated wailing 'But- but- but!' and had to be taken out - everybody watching them down the aisle till Sam finally got the rest of her sentence out 'But Mummy where's her head then?!'
  21. that was forum-handle Sparky who is 4 and a half and three quarters and will be going to 'Same Job as Clement's' in September.
  22. 'I've got a play date with Destiny.'
  23. > > 'To really see the level of callousness deeply > embedded in the Irish psyche from it's early days' is that really what you meant to say Santerme? i liked reading your post. i don't think i've ever heard a soldier's personal POV before. > >
  24. hi is this still happening this saturday? (June 19) hope so!
  25. i agree too. i needed to debate this with interested people no matter what their opinion. yes i have felt very emotional and homesick the last few days but this definitely helped. especially when two of my friends asked me on Tuesday what Bloody Sunday was! So it was good to be here. i really wish i hadn't missed all the edited material... or maybe that's a good thing?
