Travelling in Vietnam with kids (nearly 3 and 5)
mima08 replied to pilsbury's topic in The Family Room Discussion
Hi,love the suggestions here and am hoping for some advice. We are going to Vietnam with our 6you for 16th days over Christmas and new year. I am looking for recommendations for an itinerary and how much time to spend where. We are flying in and put of Hanoi and after lots of research, I've managed to tie my self into a knot...We arrive on the 18TH Dec and leave on the 4th Jan. Places we'd like to see are: - Hanoi - Halong Bay - Hue - Hoi An - chill at a beach resort for a few days - HCMC/ Saigon We would like to take the sleeper trains and avoid flying internally. Our kid is a great traveller and easy to entertain. What would be a good order to visit these places and where should we spend Christmas and New Year? Any suggestions are much appreciated! P.s., I have looked at the itineraries in the previous posts but wonder as the weather is colder, if we should take a slightly different approach. Thanks -
Mailchimp or CampaignMonitor or Dot.mailer for newsletter campaign?
mima08 replied to Minitoots's topic in The Lounge
I use Mailerlite, which is free for 2000 subscribers, you can schedule, auto-schedule, do autoresponder (e.g. automatically send emails based on certain actions) and various other things that Mailchimp does. Interface very similar to MailChimp but less annoying when trying to refine the formatting. I used to use MailChimp and am much happier with Mailerlite! -
The various lego magazine versions should be fun, most magazines for that age are full of tat, but kids love it and it hopefully keeps her entertained a little...

Issues with Virgin Media - anyone having similar problems?
mima08 replied to colbol2010's topic in General ED Issues / Gossip
We are in SE15, near Bellenden Rd and have been having on and off issues with Virgin since signing up. Recently poor again in the evenings / weekends, been told it's down to capacity issues / replacement of cables, now to be fixed by end of March (I just got deja-vu as I been told the same story for >12 months now...) -
Hiya, we've been going to TryTime (kiddies) Rugby: it's a real fun class; for that age group playing games like what's the time, Mr. Wolf, clambering over obstacle courses and kicking& throwing a ball. It's on Sat 10-11 and 11-12 at Belair park - highly recommended! http://www.trytimekidsrugby.com/dulwich/

Issues with Virgin Media - anyone having similar problems?
mima08 replied to colbol2010's topic in General ED Issues / Gossip
We still have the same capacity issues - was told by Virgin the upgrade is now due in December. I have a case of deja vu: was told exactly the same last year! During the day get 20+ in the evenings often down to 2-3mb... -
> Just out of interest how much per day did they offer you? No discount per day - they offered not to increase price, give me ?7.10 off / month for oversubscribed service and if broadband goes down completely, they pay something like ?2/day that it's off. Only reason I'm still with virgin is because they seem (?) to be all as bad as each other regarding broadband but virgin customer service is friendly - unlike BT (bad experience) or Sky (from what I hear).

Rarely get that) They offered to determine increase plus ?7.10 pretty month off while the issue of over demand is not solved (I'm not holding my breath it ever will...)

Hi, good for you to think about going freelance. Yes it can work, but needs thinking through. I'll happily share my experience as well as what I know how others have made it work, send me a pm if interested. Mx .

Sounds odd. I had my phone stolen a couple of years ago, called O2 who blocked the sim, sent me a new one and I kept my number no problem. I was on a monthly plan, though... Call them again, my experience from virgin broadband is that different support staff can provide very different answers to problems....Good luck!

local artist seeks advice on social media for business
mima08 replied to Minitoots's topic in The Lounge
Hi Minitoots no direct advice, but a friend of mine who is a brilliant coach to creative people told me about this event on social media: https://www.besmartaboutart.com/event/247/social-media-for-creative-professionals - I know it's short notice but they also might have other resources that might help? best of luck! -
Agreed, thought it'squite hard to explain this feeling. And applying for citizenship is not exactly cheap either! midivydale Wrote: ------------------------------------------------------- > "People who are not in our boat talk about > citizenship like it was just forms.
