  1. A bit late now but anyone fancy something different, try Bar Om on Choumert Road (down from Miss Tapas). It's Vietnamese Streetfood, lots of choices and delicious - and really relaxed with kids if you go early.

Really Maria is exactly what you describe here - fabulous haberdasher with loads of choice and lovely professional advice on creative projects!
  3. I was in the carphone warehouse shop on Rye Lane on Saturday and was pretty impressed with the advice I got from one of the ladies (Clara). I have quite specific requirements and not only was she knowledgable about them but also pointed out other factors that I hadn't considered.
  4. If this is yours, pm me if you want to pick it up.
  5. maybe it was something that needed signing for? You should be able to arrange a free re-delivery, so hopefully, you don't need to schlepp to Orpington...

X Thank you, I didn't know about that group, will check it out!
  7. Hiya, I left it pretty late but am looking into applying for British Citizenship before Brexit happens and potentially upends our lives dramatically. I think I will need a lawyer to help and am looking for recommendations, ideally personal experience... many thanks! M
  8. According to Facebook posts, she has been found and is with her family - they would like privacy, so maybe this thread could be removed?
  9. HI Molly I will be biased as my son has been at the Belham since reception (now about to go into year 3) and absolutely loves it. As do we as parents. The school is really driven by its vision to provide the best for the whole child, not just academic achievement but emotional, social and ethical development, too. Saying that, the academic achievements are very good, too. The teachers are fantastically engaged and the level of activities is fab to inspire the kids and make learning fun. For example, in reception, the kids went around the local shops counting apples or sausages to get them started on math, read signs etc. There is a lot of opportunities for parents to contribute to the school, too, via the PTA, various sports activities (e.g. a few parents help with out-of-school hours football class, which is in addition to an afternoon football club), and I've been on a number of school trips as a volunteer which was great fun each time. Come to the open day to find out more! I should say that those friends whose kids are at SJSC are very happy, too, so it's a good dilemma to have to choose between these schools :)
  10. My friend's 15yo really enjoyed going on stadium tours at Twickenham and Wembley.
  11. Thank you - tips(?) for the future :) We ended up going to the Dulwich Woodhouse after all - it was fine as not very busy sitting in the garden was pleasant enough.
  12. We want to go for a little walk this afternoon, ending at a nice pub in the local-ish area (ED/nunhead/Peckham) - any suggestions other than the Wood House? Thanks!

  16. My 7yo loves Nimble Arts, he is always super excited about going - have been going for 3 years. We tried a number of other clubs for variety but Nimble is the one he prefers by far. The theme days, staff and locations are always great - thoroughly recommend it.

I am sorry to hear this, my dealings with Jasmine Ali have been extremely positive and helpful, so maybe she did not get your emails? There could be a genuine reason, I experience this when I send emails through my business account they can frequently end up in the Spam filter.

  19. Batch Bar are lovely people and you can order in food from Pizza Pick up, Banh Banh and Pedler...
  20. Oh, that's odd. When I went for a run earlier yesterday (more around 9am)there was police tape outside a building on the stretch beyond the Highshore roundabout, but not the whole road and only one police officer standing guard. I assumed it had been about a break in or something as I think there are small workshops or similar?
  21. They had a mix of expensive and very reasonable prices. Some things like Desigual items were expensive, but then I bought dresses for ?40, Jeans for ?35 and leather sandals for ?38 - that is pretty reasonable, I'd say?
  22. Boooo, I love that shop. Always good for some quirky items, it will be missed :(
  23. Found this morning (05 April), comfort toy, looks well loved, now sitting on the fence at 47 Adys Road.
  24. I had a similar issue on and off with BT for 12month. Problem was that it was intermitted - no issue for a few weeks then tripping like crazy for a few days - then fine again. Eventually, I noticed that it always happened in high winds and strong rain... One Sunday morning a BT engineer turns up at my door (I had not arranged it) and said BT had decided to investigate. Bizarre but ok - turns out the wires coming into my house from outside and going across the street were rusted and too tight. That's why it tripped in heavy rain and wind! He re-strung it and touch wood, no issue since. Even though it took a while to get sorted, BT was genuinely helpful all the way through.
  25. I don't know about a chess club but my 7 year old would love that, too!
