  1. I'm reiterating what I wrote previously that I have been with the surgery since 2009 and never had a problem with them. I get appointments quickly, attended well by whoever I have to see, rarely had to wait over my appointment time, and never had a problem with the reception staff.
  2. Where is Roksana based and what are her fees
  3. There was also a stabbing outside of Tescos Express on East Dulwich Road around 8pm last week. Two guys arguing and one stabbed the other. Not life threatening but just the same.
  4. Well, for London and areas, it is snowing. Icing sugar coating really.
  5. I will back Dulwich therapy rooms. Dan Bevan who started the clinic in the 90s is acupuncturist. I have been going to the clinic in general and Dan since 2009. www.dulwichtherapyrooms.co.uk/
  6. I've been with Melbourne Grove since 2009 and never had any problems with them and that includes the reception staff, though I have heard patients being quite rude to them. I have a good doctor and on the few occasions when I have needed a same day appointment, so urgent, I called at 8am and got one. In January I was sure I had norovirus and called surgery to get some advice, mostly that I was self-treating myself correctly. They don't actually do these over the phone calls any more but within 15 minutes a doctor called me back to advise (it was norovirus)and arranged for medications to be delivered to me.
  7. "Crispy" as opposed to soggy
  8. I tried this take away yesterday as I couldn't be bothered cooking. I threw half of my fish and chips out. The chips were not at all crisp and the fish not much better. I was not impressed. I rarely eat a meal of this kind but if I did, I would not be back.
  9. I had my hair cut by Miguel on Friday as mentioned above. He is quite a character and versatile, creative hairdresser. My normal hairdresser is Shingo at Kuki's and I doubt very much if I would leave him as he is fantastic; however, I might try and share between them. Their pricing system is the same.
  10. Waitrose is fine if you have a budget that can afford it. It has very good quality products but expensive. I used them a couple of times for online shopping delivery as I received vouchers off but even with a reduction, they are still more than my normal supermarket online delivery shopping. Waitrose and M&S are similar. Good products but expensive.
  11. On the basis of comments here I am trying him on Friday. I normally go to Kuki's who are fantastic, particularly Shingo but at the moment am stuck for time and as I work around the corner from Rocks Hair will give him a try and comment afterwards. He is having serious problems with BT he was telling me so mobile must still be used.
  12. Shingo and his crew are very pleasant people and would be open to criticism I am certain, so I would not consider yourself to be outed, but to return and mention your previous experiences. Try Shingo but book well in advance as he tends to be popular! I think that your comment being the only negative one within the Kuki forum, says a lot for Kuki's expertise.
  13. I am surprised also at hearing a negative comment re Kuki. I've been using them since a few months after they opened and have Shingo for a cut every few months and from time to time half head highlights. I've never had a bad experience yet, in fact the opposite and having tried so many local hairdressers who were not very good, I find Kuki's a real benefit to the area. I agree that Paula and Shingo would not only rectify your experiences but would like to hear of them.
  14. To be frank, I just can't understand why anybody would not welcome the introduction of M&S into Lordship Lane. The demographic of the area is changing no end and I think the reality is that most people would welcome the quality that M&S offers. Fingers crossed that the application is accepted! I find this quite snobbish. Are you saying that all in East Dulwich are well heeled and upmarket. Reality check - Not everyone can afford M&S.
  15. Thanks very much! We came from Edinburgh's New Town which is incredibly quiet and staid so we're not used to all this liveliness. Having lived in Edinburgh it is a rather nice area, and New Town is not so far from the centre. You will get used to the helicopters flying around East Dulwich (not exactly a rare occasion) and the sound of police cars!
  16. I hope the little kittens are found. It is unbelievably unkind and cruel to abandon animals like this; whoever did this should be shot. For such tiny animals it will be difficult for them to survive in the cold weather and apart from that there are a number of foxes in the area.
  17. Roadworks are nothing to do with construction work at college.
  18. I've used the pool several times since it opened last Friday and have no problem with the temperature of the water and over-heated pools are unpleasant. I think the Leisure Centre is terrific now and we should be pleased to have this on our doorstep. The gym's very small but surely worth it as a temporary measure. If the gym when completed is anything like recent renovations it will be a fantastic facility.
  19. I, too, see them on a regular basis. The last one I saw (last week) I thought was a cat due to its size.
  20. I've seen many on the occasions that I've walked through the park. They scuttle into the hedges. In any City, the rates outnumber the human inhabitants!
  21. I've lived in East Dulwich for 17 months now and in that time it seems to have had its more than fair share of serious road accidents and too many since I moved there, including the fatality of a 10 year old school child in January this year. Is there something that needs to be done to make the area safer - more zebra crossings, traffic lights? More prudent drivers.
  22. I get Euros from the travel shop in the Sainsburys on Dog Kennel Hill (next to cigarette counter). Costs nothing and they have the prepaid cash cards as well(it's called Passport Card)
  23. They are in several areas around Britain. I saw them in the back garden last year. I read that they are originally from the Himalayas, and can survive easily anywhere but that they steal food from other birds etc.
