  3. Before you download Windows 10 you need to check that your PC is ready.. Need to check if you have enough memory & Check Processor : 1 Ghz or faster. There are sites that can do this for you but you need to be careful the site is genuine. When you download Windows 10. Installation will take place autimatically.. at some stage... If the installation fails the files will still be there. every time you shut down your PC Windows will attenpt the upgrade and could take some time to shut down before it fails again. You then need to remove these files manually to stop this happening. and you need to be a bit Computer savvy to do so. The next stage is to prevent these file from being down loaded again thus removing them from the things to instal list. These proceedures can take a while to perform and you need to take care that essensial files are not removed. If the upgrade is succesful there could be further problems with graphics if graphics card or its drivers are not compatible. Dont want to scare you but you need to be careful before you attempt the upgrade.. I dont think we are going to have much choice before very long. Microsoft wants everyone to upgrade and will do it anyway weathe we like it or not.. DulwichFox
  4. M&S coming to East Dulwich gives it a bit of a Richmond touch.. but Richmond is by the River and has boats and the planes fly lower and are noisier.. and Richmond has a Green where they play cricket.. and has a tube station. East Dulwich is nothing like Richmond.. The 37 bus used to run directly between East Dulwich and Richmond but doesn't any more. But the planes that pass over East Dulwich also pass over Richmond a few minutes later. Funny that.. init ? DulwichFox
  5. Who actually knows.. ? People just open up a new Pop-Up and then decide where it is according to where is #Trending at the time.. #Peckham seems to be the place to be at the momment.. #East-Dulwich is on the decline.. #Nunhead is definately on the up.. DulwichFox
  6. I have posted this in the lounge as at this moment in time I am not looking for anyone to take on the work I intend to be doing during the summer.. I will be having a new kitchen fitted with much of the work being carried out by myself.. I need two new windows and patio doors fitted. The kitchen ceiling renewed.. and new lighting installed.. An on suite and bathroom stud partioning rearranged involving plumbing drainage .. electrics .. My on-suite is strangely further away from my bed that the main bathroom. Removing the on suite and rearranging the layout could result in an extra small bedroom.. Most carpets removed and Wooden Flooring laid.. Now .. My problem is my house is fully furnished and I am looking for someone who can Temp. remove and offer short term storage of furniture while this work is carried out.. Can anyone reccommend anyone who who provides this service and is reliable.. DulwichFox.

Im not actually a 'Pensioner' I have several years to go to be officially a 'Pensioner' I am not offially retired.. Well a few years back I was planning to move to Turkey... The current political situation makes that undesirable. Having Turkey in the E.U. would of made that easier.. but now I will be voting for the UK to leave.. So probably moving somewhere.. out of East Dulwich.. would be desirable .. Who knows.. South Wales ?? That would go down well .. A Millwall supporter living in South Wales.. lol Foxy

  15. I realise these books have very little value... but were invaluable to me when I aquired them... I just hate waste and throwing things away.. I am a terrible hoarder.. I'm a hopeless case.. I have started to clear my house of all the clutter. I have just found a reciept for my first ever car insurance. 30th NoVember. 1970. ?17.00 T.P.F.T. It was just lying around in my living room. 46 years.. and I have moved 3 times since then. lol. I am trying to go Minimalistic Foxy

  18. Pickle... I did NOT take the thread off topic. I said 'I am always amazed at the number of people who seem to be eating out these days...' Any other comments were in reply to personal attacts by some usual suspects. And whats all this about it being 'fine to drink in a pub..' Who is that aimed at and what are you implying.. ? DF.
  19. Not to worry.. A new Burger / Pizza bar will open somewhere within a 5 mile radius and we can bring this thread back on track. The new place replacing Veer Zara should be opening soon. Cocktails and Bar-B-Que Pit so I'm told. Foxy.

I don't have the money to go out eating in East Dulwich 3-4 times a week and don't have the time to travel elsewhere where it may be a bit cheaper.. Also I hate sitting in restaurants for hours at a time. I like to sit down.. eat my food.. and get out.. There are far more immportant things that need doing.. I've always been a lazy eater... I eat purely out of nescessity... I'm not a foody as such.. Food is a real chore for me. I simply cannot be bothered.. As least when I eat at home I can be doing other things while it is in the oven.. And as for *bob* comments on my eating habits over the last 40 years .. Well they were over along period and for the majority of that period it was true.. I have slowed down now in the same way I no longer drink 6-8 pints of beer a day as I might of down at times during the same period.. FFS.. Pedants.. :) Foxy
  22. Do people still use Dictionaries.. I have many Dictionaries and Technical Books (Commputer Language Books) Some of them were very expensive (?30-?40) But is there any use for them. Most Technical information is available on line. Im talking about 20+ such books.. I don't know what to do with them.. They are in good condition but I no longer use them. DulwichFox

Well back then I was working 12-13 hour shifts including Nights and week ends.. I ate out late after work... I did not sit in cafes at breakfast or lunchtime.. Since leaving employment in 2008 I don't have the money to eat out as much.. Also After being diagnosed with Type-2 Diabetes in Feb 2011 I need to take more control of what I eat. Years of eating out late at night... ready meals when working nights... irregular meals when working shifts had taken its toll. Foxy

Google will not allow me to view the 2 youtube vids. for some reason. I get a message about Data Protection.. Louisa and myself do not live in each others pockets.. We have never met and have many opposing views on some subjects. However E.D. Circa 1983 sounds wonderful. Sadly those days have long gone and the likes of which will never be seen in these parts again. I speak to a lot people who were around here at that time and many agree that most changes have not been for the better. DulwichFox
  25. I am always amazed at the number of people who seem to be eating out these days... I eat out in the evenings occasionally .. Mostly Curry.. .. But Breakfast... Brunch.. Lunch.. Afternoon Tea.. ?? Does anybody ever cook these days... I simply do not have time to eat out.. Travelling to Camberwell, Peckham, Forest Hill for a Coffee and a Croissant.. Cooking is Fun.. More people need to try it.. Foxy
