  1. Heeeave. yuk..
  2. Well done binkylilyput.. Becks Blue is ?2.65 (275ml) in The Bishop but they had run out a few days ago.. I'm generally feeling in a better mood, improved sleep. need sun to get motivated .. don't get motivated until mercury hits mid 70's.. Think you really cherish that first glass of wine.. DulwichFox
  3. During the old Regime some 10 years ago my mate had his stag night there.. .... He is a bit of a joker and insisted that I presented myself smartly... .... I obliged by wearing a suit and two ties... Extra smart.. The 'Bouncer' asked me why I was wearing two ties and I .... explained the situation. He asked me if I was taking the P*** out of him. I said 'No' and I was asked to leave. You couldn't make that up.. Foxy
  4. It's a strange thing or maybe not so strange.. but I often end up having a curry after a couple of beers or sometimes before.. During my abstinence from alcohol I have not been out so much and as a consequence have not been having my usual 3-4 curries a week. My most recent curry seemed to taste so much better as a result of the break.. I'm hoping my first pint will be as rewarding.. and looking very much forward to it. :) Foxy..

  7. A few banana skin fixtures there.. Foxy.
  8. I think that those attacking affluent areas like Dulwich Village are likely to be professional criminals. SE22 East Dulwich has housing stock more likely to attract opportunist petty criminals. DulwichFox

It's not really an issue.. I suspect I am not the only person in E.D. not drinking this Month. It is likely more people have resorted to drinking alcohol free beer. I occasionally drink it if circumstances so prevail. ... I was never consciously doing 'Dry January' It was just a personal challenge that has proved to be easier than I imagined. I have got out of the habit of going down the pub every night.. Foxy
  10. Otta.. That makes sense. The diary was from Mike and Gloria.. Was good days back then.. Proper pub. Foxy..

That really would be grim... They must of rearranged the layout then.. haven't been there for a couple of years.. DulwichFox

I remember mostly the big guy with the whiskers ..(Brian) ? A naval chap.. was that your dad. And there was a couple that ran it and I got a diary one year with their names on but I cant remember their names. Foxy.
  13. Otta Wrote: ------------------------------------------------------- > Foxy what do these pubs charge for a bottle of the > alcoholic equivalent (a bottle of regular Becks)? Not sure as I never drink bottled beers in pubs but ?3.95 - ?4.25 seems to be the average.. Bottled beers are strange.. ... Typically some Indian Restaurants are Charges ?3.95 for 330ml Kingfisher and ?4.95 for 660ml. Foxy.

Nell was a Tiny lady possible 90 years old who used to get bottles of Guinness given to her which she would hoard behind the bar for later consumption. She was crafty.. a real diamond.. She was previously on stage in the theatres when she was younger.. She wore spectacles and one of the lenses was frosted out as I believe she may of been blind in that eye. The likes of which may never be seen again in these parts.. Foxy
  15. I think you have totally missed the point Sue.. 330ml bottle of Peroni Tesco - ?1.16. Pub - ?3.95 approx. 3.4 x the priceo 330ml bottle of Alc Free Tesco - .50p Pub - ?3.50 7 x the price.. See the difference Foxy
  16. The Vic. Strange place for a playroom.. with everyone having to trample through there to go to the loo.. There is a real risk of treading on little fingers... DulwichFox
  17. I miss the Crystal Palace Tavern (as opposed to the revamped C.P.T.) as it was in the 80's Sunday lunch time with Dick (the Brick)and Beryl The guy on the piano and Nell who used to sing Slow Boat to China to me... Was a regular winner in The Good Beer Guide. And we (Blackheath Morris Men) used to dance outside with the Downes Morris and some ladies sides.. Hardly ever set foot in the place these days.. no atmosphere.. Foxy

Most Alcohol Free beers in the Supermarket are 50p Becks Blue 275ml 50p Tesco ?2.65 The Bishop Barvaria 330ml 50p Tesco ?3.50 The E.D.T. Big mark up even if the pubs bought it from Tesco.. DulwichFox
  19. The new Cinema has had much publicity... Despite drinking in the EDT most nights for many years , I have never been aware of any Films being screened there. I know they have singers upstairs on some Tuesday nights. ? But Films is a new one on me.. DulwichFox
  20. Well that's it... Both The EDT and The Bishop have run out of Alcohol Free Beer. I have drunk the 6 bottles from both pubs that have stood there for 12 months previously undrunk... I have resorted to Lime and Soda.. Foxy.
  21. Can't see why anyone would be keen for TFL to take over London's entire suburban rail network.... Take a look how they run the bus services... It would be a complete disaster.. DulwichFox.
  22. So to sum it all up.. There is no such thing as a Gastro 'Pub' There are places that sell simple food.. I.E. The EDT.. and is a Pub.. ..and there are places where the food is a bit more specialised that are not really pubs.. I.E. The Palmerston. DulwichFox

A few micro-salad leaves with black truffle shavings and a balsamic vinegar reduction for ?30.00 just doesn't do it for me. Manzes Peckham Hill Street , Tower Bridge Road.. Pie, Mash & Liquor.. ?3.80 There you go.. Good honest Pre-Football nosh.. Foxy
  24. Went past recently.. No sign of vandalism so good repair job... Dulwichfox
