Great walks in countryside near East Dulwich
DulwichFox replied to amac's topic in General ED Issues / Gossip
Used to take my lady friends to the George Inn in the evenings back in the mid 70's.. Wanted to buy a house there.. Bit of a drive but worth it.. Not at all touristy back then.. Nice coal fires.. Went there a few years back on a Sunday.. dozens of cars.. on church street.. Ruined.. DulwichFox -

New Years Eve.. What are we celebrating.. ?? Back in 1974/5 ish my then girlfriend summed it up... 'We are celebrating the fact that we have survived another year .. ' It's been my thought on the subject ever since.. No different to any other day of the year.. I will be out as usual. There will be more idiots about, people will be making prats of themselves drinking J?gerbombs and thinking they can fight everybody.. I will drink my usual 2 - 3 pints.. and escape the pub by 12.15. Cannot see the point of drinking 4-5 pints. and feeling like a sack of S**t the next day... Happy New Year.. Foxy..

Didn't you mention to me at the > beginning that you had Bafe Gomis as your > striker? > > I bet you took him out ages ago! ;-) I'm bottom and have not made any changes... probably why I'm bottom.. don't even look at it much now... I'm not worried too much about winning.. I am not a very competitive person.. Anyway that's enough about that.. back to predictions... tonights' game not going to plan.. Foxy

Sue Wrote: ------------------------------------------------------- It's not like loom bands or Frozen :)) Sorry do not understand... Well at least F.M. uses real cheese and not Cheese Analogue like many Pizza outlets... And they are reasonably priced and did the best make over on L.L. ever.. (as I did remark on when they first opened) Foxy...

I am enjoying it.. but not doing too well over the last 2 weeks.. I'm just upset that you are denying me the chance to beat you.. ;-) I know you.. You don't like loosing.. :) Foxy..

Yep.. Allowing featureless architectural structures to be built makes it easier to do so elsewhere in East Dulwich. It will only get worse.. DulwichFox

These things come in waves.. Fads.. Don't get people raving about Franco Manca any more.. No big queues outside. Latest craze is Platform 1. which seems busy.. Not sure about the Japanese place.. can't really see in.. Dulwich Tandoori , Jaflong , Tandoori Nights seem busy at various times... The Sea Cow place is big and needs something different to survive.. Don't know if change of use is an option. Most restaurants seem to stay as restaurants.. I'm sure someone here will point out an exception.. DulwichFox

Curry Club - Thursday 7 March 2019 - venue TBC
DulwichFox replied to Michael Palaeologus's topic in The Lounge
Lolololololololol :) :) :) :) :) :) :) Foxy -
AqM are you going to abandon The Swans just because they have been not doing too good recently.. Like you did Millwall.. when they went down :( - Well The lions are not doing to badly at the moment... Teams bounce back and so will you.. I need the competition .. It looked like it was a race between the pair of us.. So get back in it.. Foxy
-
I must get along.. M.C.Escher one of my favourite artists.. DulwichFox
-
Come on AqM you got me into this... and my closest rival.. Not even half way through the season yet... Foxy..

Well a new one previously Veer Zara is due to open in February if all goes to plan.. The new owners will be associates of an existing Lordship Lane outlet... Supposedly serving Cocktails and a Bar-be-Que pit it will be a new twist on the usual curry house... Watch this space... Foxy..

KidKruger Wrote: ------------------------------------------------------- > Not all the curry houses (if any) rent their > premises, many have been around since the time > when ED high st commercial property was not > exactly pricey. That is not even remotely true... I don't want to give to much away but I know several that do pay rent. What they have been paying and what they have been quoted for 2016... .. and if Sea Cow were quoted ?50k for a restaurant that size then that is cheap.. about 15-20k cheaper than even some of the smaller curry houses.. Foxy..

Well people embracing the ?12.00 burger.. and willing to pay ?80.00 per head for Pop-up fine dining.. ... people will get what they ask for and very little else... What next... ... ?20.00 for a Chicken Vindaloo ... ?8.00 for rice.. ?4.00 for a Poppadom ... ?9.00 for a bottle of Kingfisher.. Its coming.. believe me... DulwichFox

Personally.. .. I would never consider drinking wine or beer with fish and chips.. Just a nice cup of tea afterwards. The only time I eat Fish and Chips (sit Down) is when I go to Blue Water.. Harry Ramsdens with beautiful crisp batter.. The Best.. Foxy..
-
I only ever used it once... Shortly after it first opened... At the time the latest fad on the block.. Queuing down Lordship Lane... I got my Box of Fish'n'Chips home.. opened it up to find a soggy , greasy slab of fish ? stuck to the paper. and 10 - 12 greasy baby / new potatoes that appeared to of been confied in cold oil... Never been back.. DulwichFox

Terrible predictions results... 3 points only so far..:( hope I can do better on the 28th. A chance for others to catch up. ;-) Foxy.

DulwichFox replied to beagle1's topic in General ED Issues / Gossip

red devil Wrote: ------------------------------------------------------- > Predictions aren't locked Foxy, you can change > them anytime before kick off... Yes.. I know.. I never change predictions though.. Bad luck.. I used to be in a Quiz team called 'If Only' You know.. 'If only we put that.. If only I listened to you.. If only I ignored him.. ' I'm off to Millwall on Sat.. so I have predictions to look forward to when I get back.. Foxy
