  1. I used to play darts and was in the Uplands team... We used to go to different pubs each week in competitions where each pubs would provide free food. Crystal Palace Tavern.. (NOT The CPT) , Pubs in Surrey Quays and Peckham who's names escape me which are no longer there. A place in Brockley .. The Windmill ??? no longer there.. The Rye Hotel.. It was a really good night out.. Cant see that ever returning... Free Food.. ?? Yeah Even with 6 teams of 8-10 all knocking back gallons of ale. Forget pool tables.. DulwichFox P.S Peckham pub was The Admiral Codrington off of Wells Way.. Old Bikers pub..

Wasn't it more > that lack of custom meant that they weren't viable > businesses anymore. The operators who ran The Foresters? et al weren?t making money so they closed. Then new operator(s) came in with a business model that worked better. The Foresters had 2 Pool Tables in the back extension which they claimed brought in a fortune.. Well it didn't but as where ever there is a pool table there were rows and scuffles... The Bishop put tables and chairs in the same space and had people eating and drinking.. I detest pool tables in pubs.. DulwichFox

When I lived in Peckham as a kid.. our flats had pram sheds in separate blocks on the estate. Not in the road.. Foxy

This opens the list of software installed on the system. Switch to "view installed updates" on the left side of the window. If you are using Windows 7, locate the following updates: 3035583, 2952664, 3021917 If you are using Windows 8, locate the following updates: 3035583, 2976978 Right-click one update after the other and select uninstall from the context menu. Select Restart Later when the prompt appears and remove all updates first from the system. Once done, restart the computer to complete the process. If you don't do this and have automatic updates enabled, they may be installed again on the system. To block these updates, do the following: Tap on the Windows-key, type Windows Update, and hit enter. This should open the Windows Update dialog. Select "check for updates" to find new updates to install on the system. Windows should find the updates listed above again. Click on the "important update is available" link. We are all told to have 2-3 days alcohol free each week.. Since I retired in 2008 apart from shopping and my daily walk 5,000+ steps I spend too much time indoors. My nightly excursions are mostly for social reasons. Let people see I am still alive. ..and reassure myself likewise.. Its been many years (20+) since I was last even remotely drunk ? I was not even aware of the term Dry January. It was a financial thing after being hit with over ?400.00 of unexpected bills on top of Xmas expenditure. I have no intention of giving up entirely. I started cutting down around 2011.. I won't be out tonight.. Tomorrow in The Bishop.. alcohol free.. Looking forward to all the complimentary beers from Forumites on my return to normality. :) Foxy
  17. Robert the Bruce.. Whilst in the cave and at the depths of despair, King Robert happened to watch a spider attempting to build a web - the spider would spin then fall, get up and spin again and again relentlessly until it eventually made the web. Don't give up Otta Foxy
  18. This is the same as The Microsoft Scam.. They ask you to bring up 'eventvwr' Event Viewer . All perfectly safe.. Here you will see Errors which they will tell you are Viruses.. They are not.. They are normal messages and you do not need to be concerned. http://www.trustedit.co.uk/wp-content/uploads/2011/09/eventvwr3.png They then tell you to download from a link they will give you. If you do.. They have complete control of your P.C. and can steal your data. They will instruct you not to close down you P.C. until they have 'cleaned ' ypur P.C They will also ask for Credit card details to make a payment for the service.. Its a SCAM.. DulwichFox

  23. Well I reckon if we ever get Community Parking Zones (CPZ) in the area, every available space will be made available for parking. Bike hangers will disappear.. Most Yellow Lines where parking was considered as unsafe areas to park will be erased and made available for paid parking. You mark my words.. DulwichFox
  24. Perhaps if Southwark council were really serious about more people cycling and giving up there cars.. .. they could introduce a scheme were those people who do relinquish there cars would get a ?50.00 voucher towards the cost of a new bike. This would free up spaces and make parking easier for the likes of people who rely on their cars and those who for what ever reason cannot cycle. DulwichFox
