  1. If you are referring to the small balls of skin, then I had mine removed by threading. Can't remember her name, she was based in monkeys in Brixton. Not painful either.
  2. Any did a great job on my shoulders... This MSG reminded me that I need to re book...
  3. I would be interested, being in interiors mean cafes wont work excepton admin days will check out Ivey house. Lorraine would you let me know if Anything happens at captured in the rye please. Thanks Lori
  4. just read your the title..of course you want to reward him... sorry i speed read it and followed on from someone elses suggestion. parden me.
  5. The other thing you could try is the marble jar idea as previously suggested, but not necessarily reward with a treat. Sometimes there is satisfaction in acknowledging good behaviour. It can be said that this is enough. Treats can come anyway as they do from time to time. It's often said that bad behaviour is often a result of seeking attention. If attention is given to good behaviour then the child is most likely to repeat the good behaviour as it gets them the attention they want. I always notice when I become slack at acknowledging my childs good behaviour, he starts playing up!
  6. The spotty roman blinds fabric is still available actually, I made something similar for hello sailors girls room, you can just have the themed fabric on the accessories such as cushion covers etc..feel free to contact me on that. Also I made my 6 year old blinds out of fabric with a world map on it... He loves it and every night I ask him questions on where countries are in relation to others and which countries are close to others... he loves it, and so do we.
  7. global fusion do fantastic cakes and other savouries too.. brixton based company.
  8. I just dropped my son off at Bessemer to start in year 1, SOOOO impressed by it. The class was lovely bright and spacious, with an outdoor player area attached and the views! amazing....I am soo pleased with the school so far, and yes, people come from as far as West Norwood, so don't be put off if its for this reason. It's a great school.
  9. Do iphones improve the coverage on the 3 network, or should we not believe the hype. I am with 3 and its awful in my home, but fine outside of it. I live in Herne Hill. Does anyone on 3 get a good coverage in their home in that area, and if so are you using an Iphone?
  10. however you choose, so long as you both enjoy it, anything to relieve the stress of the day before!
  11. Watched the film and it was so reminiscent of when i was growing up. Lovely to see, when we were kids we just piled our bikes up at the end of the street to stop cars... love the idea of the kids taking control of their own environment, very difficult for people to go against.. worked for us!
  12. Haven't watched the film yet as about to go out, but I have been thinking the very same thing myself for some time. I live in a cul de sac, its very quiet and there are lots of kids on my street, I wanted to propose the idea, but didn't want to come across as cheeky, so I am very pleased about this. Having read the responses I believe there are stewards there which may feed into the 'fear culture' that we seem to find ourselves in. I would be more than happy if kids from busier streets in the area could come to our cul de sac to play, extend it to a wider circle.
  13. Thank you Katie, I think it probably is...great.
  14. Hi Sarah, I have pm'd you
  15. I think that my original posting for homeopath recommendations has been satisfied. Thanks for those recommendations. Bearing in mind that I did not once use the term 'alternative' (Kes) I would like to draw this to a close now, mainly because I do not have the time to read and respond to messages,(where do you all find the time?!) I thank all contributors, and sign off. Unless of course someone knows an orthodox cure that they can recommend, so far there have been none proposed....
  16. Interesting posts, yes it is true that I am not entirely convinced that it will work for such severe allergies, but it seems that the medical profession in this country is really not up to date with allergies. They do not fully understand why it is a growing problem, nor how to deal with it. Research on Allergies is not as advanced here as it is in America and Australia. The prick tests are often inaccurate and the food challenges are a complete joke. It doesn't seem to occur to them that giving a child one particular unshelled nut that has been in contact with other nuts is not a particularly safe food challenge. I would ideally love to travel to get him treated elsewhere as this country seems to invest very little into this growing problem. Its worth remembering that pregnant women were advised not to eat nuts during pregnancy for fear of the child developing an allergy. They eventually realised that this was a mistake due to the growing number of allergic children in this country compared to countries where nnuts are prevalent in their diet, and do not have any where near the numbers of allergic children in this country. The advice now is to eat nuts. My son has had the best results for his eczema from manuka honey, (which is now being used in hospitals for healing wounds incidently with great results) oats in the bath, shea butter from the lovely woman on north cross road market.. I think that the orthodox medicine has achieved amazing things, but some countries are still 'catching up'. For example This recent discovery that a high number of children are found to be deficient in Vit D has been widely recognised in France for many years and give recommend it to children up to the age of 5 I think. Here we have just realised it. I am also conviinced that this recent cough that has been doing the rounds is whooping cough, but that's another subject i think so i'll leave it there! My point is that pharmaceutics have been praised for getting rid of lots of diseases with injections, yet as has been argued for many years is not necessarily the case, Docs just don't look for it because they don't believe they exist...perhaps orthodox medicine still has a long way to go, and should not be so lauded over complimentary medicine. Hope this makes sense....I've got loads to do but had the urge to respond. Hope my point comes across!
  17. Thanks for all the posts dismissing homeopathy. I have had my reservations also, what keeps me going is that it has had a positive effect for some people, and cured some illnesses considered to be life long. If they were cured by the placebo effect then that's good enough for me, as there were no side effects.
  18. Hi Has anyone had any success with treating food allergies with a homeopath in the area preferably but prepared to travel to the right person. I would really like to hear from you. Many thanks
